Saturday Photo Hunt - Community

This photo was actually taken on the cul-de-sac where I live. I chose it because it is our local fire department and our State Police working together to save a life. I feel this displays "community" at it's best! The victim was not someone from our cul-de-sac -- but the helicopters often land here and then the rescue squad brings the victim to the helicopter.

I can never say enough good things about the fire and rescue people in our area. They saved my life after a terrible accident, so I applaud your choice!

You're right, the fire and rescue people are the best about community, pulling together to save lives. Great shot for today's theme.

Funny, in my cul de sac, we only get ambulances. :) Good choice.

Great display of your communities "finest" coming together to save someone. The photo alone is awesome, but when you have meaning behind it, it truely completes the work of art!

Thanks for stopping by.

I almost went down to our local fire-department to get a community picture. I still need to go down to the fire department to get a picture of a fire-truck for TN's photo contest though.
Thank you for stopping my, Melli. Have a great Saturday.

Great pick for community. That's awesome that the cul-de-sac is large enough for the hellicopter to land there, ya know.

By Blogger Unknown, at 6/10/2006 12:54 PM

That's an awesome photo!!!!

Thanks for stopping by my SPH!

Wow, that is a great shot. What an awesome example of community indeed. How cool that you get to see the helicopter land in your neighborhood. The bad thing is it does it when there is something seriously wrong :(

By Blogger Tracy S, at 6/10/2006 1:25 PM

very cool pic! What an awesome community you have to have everyone working so hard to save one another. I played too. Stacie

I agree Melli - your picture is a great choice for the spirit of community.
How exciting to have that so close by where you live.
Great choice!

By Blogger LibertyBelle, at 6/10/2006 7:05 PM

I just gotta tell ya that your photo is awesome, and if something like that happened often in our cul-de-sac, my son would be in heaven! He just LOVES helicopters! =o) (if one is landing nearby, we HAVE to follow it to watch! lol)

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 6/10/2006 7:12 PM

That is a neat picture. I am sure it gathered many on-lookers!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 6/10/2006 10:10 PM

Every community has it's emergency workers, thank goodness for them.

(I was thinking of posting my favorite falcons, I do try to work them in whenever possible!)

By Blogger Unknown, at 6/10/2006 10:32 PM

Melli, great job this week because that is truly community. People helping people. Lovely choice for the week! :)

By Blogger -tnchick-, at 6/11/2006 12:33 AM

I agree! It's a great example of "community"...we're so fortunate to have those types of services and, sadly, we all too often take them for granted until we need them!

By Blogger Deb @ Sugarfused, at 6/11/2006 8:38 AM

Wow, that really is great for the community. Rescue forces are so worth to be mentioned!
