A Pointless Post

So. Yesterday was a wordless Monday, and tomorrow is Wordless Wednesday ... I guess I better get some words down today! Huh? Yesterday I was less than thrilled with the world and it's happenings, so I chose (for once) to keep my mouth shut and go back to bed and try to sleep it away! In case your wondering, it didn't work. The world was still here when I woke up.

We are having "vehicle issues" in my home. Mathew's car is in the shop because someone backed into him last week. Derek's car is out of breaks. My car needs tires before I go to New York this weekend. Ugh. Since Amanda is still in Colorado, her car has been available as a "spare" which has been helpful ... Today we are celebrating car day! I'm getting my tires at 10:30... Derek is getting breaks at 1:00 and Mathew's car should be ready when he gets off work today! YAY! I had to drive him to work this morning which means I've had less sleep. I also had less patience over some issues surrounding all this... and he and I exchanged words on the trip to work. (loudly) Less is not always more... sometimes less is less...

My camera's both ran out of batteries yesterday. Mathew had my car so I couldn't run out and get any. I'll have to get some this morning while I'm wasting time waiting for tires! Even if I don't spot ANYthing to take a picture of - just knowing that I can't drives me crazy! Yep... I'm a camera addict. Do they have Photographers Anonymous? My name is Melli... I take 70 pictures a day... I can't control myself... My old camera had the rechargeable battery pack. I liked that SO much better! I don't know why most of the new cameras have gone back to the disposable AA batteries. They are less reliable!

With ANY luck I will also remember to take my six overdue library books back today. They have been stacked on the cat-tree right next to the front door for over a week now. But I have less of a memory these days, and too many good books at home right now. Less need to get to the library! I got a notice in the mail this week ... so I know they are pretty far past due. My library loves me. I support them on a regular basis!

It's Tuesday which means Krysti and I will be playing Trivia tonight at a local restaurant here in town. For awhile I had the whole family (sans Dennis) going ... but the others dropped out slowly but surely. I'm hosting a round tonight. If I'm hosting a round, it gives Krys and I a little better chance of scoring some points! Captain Tom and Amy (his first mate) take our place to answer the questions that I have come up with. Cap'n & Amy are lots more knowledgeable in the Useless Information arena than Krysti and I are ... so this helps! Krysti and I always come in LAST place. Every week. It's okay. We're happy there. We are low-lifes and we know our place as such! It's comfortable at the bottom. No pressure. ;)

Had enough yet? Okay... well I have! I'm done!

Have a great day!

Congratulations Melli ! You lost 60 lbs ! For this event I even looked on my converter ! That's a lot !!! Wonderful and apparently it does you very good. Compliments to your daughter that she "raped" you to do that ! So you too will celebrate your first blogging year ! I am only angry with me that I didn't discover it before and killed my days since my retirement with stupid things (besides my paintings) and was always bored and unhappy. You know here in Belgium blogging only starts slowly and mostly young to very young people do it. I am really "unic" in my age nobody even thinks about that. I have one friend who is "computer" because she is a leisure photographer and therefore also uses internet, but no blogging and another who does genealogy research but that's it, all the others also consider a computer as a dust catcher ! They hardly know that Websites exists but can't understand what I as a private person can do with it. I gave it up. I just tell them that I am corresponding with the whole world, that works how, is not important. I think it's a great invention and so enriching when you read the blogs. I almost have no time anymore to read a book. (and yours are sitting on a cat tree and no cat has thrown them down ???) It's so nice to see that whatever country you belong to, nice people remain nice people and bad once bad, although I never had a bad experience so far not even in comments. My son is quite proud of his "modern" mother I am the only one amongst his friends, who blogs.
BTW why don't you participate at Manic Monday ? It's very new and therefore not so well known, but it's interesting. Each week on Friday he gives one word and you pitch a story around. On this monday it was "yellow" and I was desperated couldn't find anything to write in "yellow" and then saw my car sitting in front of the garage, lol ! I met some interesting and funny people in this group too.

I am glad that you are getting your cars back. sorry you were having an off day yesterday. We all have them once in a while. I hope you are feeling better today. I too have been known to hide from the world for a day when I am feeling down but you know what? It is always there when I come out from hiding too!

I'm glad your vehicle woes are being resolved...we are one car short while my Versa is in the shop, and boy, do I miss that car...thankfully we have enough that everyone has something to drive, but still...
And I have library books that I have had for nearly two years. *hangs head* I used to work at the public library, and they're pretty easy on me there. They call every now and then and whine but they're not too hateful. They have "Fine free" days on Tuesday...I need to take 'em back one Tuesday and be done with it...but I'm afraid of being shot on sight if I show my face ;)
Love ya...have a great day...

70 pictures a day? What do you do with them all?

By Blogger Unknown, at 2/27/2007 7:56 PM

Melli

You had quite the busy day today, hope all cars got home and you are all mobile now.

I love my digital camera, I like to take pictures but not as many as you take. I guess at work it wouldn't be ok as some don't like their picture getting taken.

So, how did you two do with trivia? Golly, having no electricity for one lousy day seems like weeks!!

All the catchin' up to do. And so little time.

Glad all your vehicles are getting the work needed for each one.

Hope you had fun playing Trivia.

Take care!
