I'm Clueless...

Mom: So, is that the kitchen in there?
Me: Yep, that's the kitchen.
Mom: And if I go in there I can get a lang?
Me: What's a lang?
Mom: You know... like a long piece of walling.
Me: ??? No... I don't know... but what do you need a piece of walling for?
Mom: Well. I thought it might keep me from running into something... or something.
Me: Mom. I don't know what you're talking about. What ARE you talking about?
Mom: Well. I don't know right now either.

If YOU have a clue... please fill me in!!!

I'm afraid I am clueless, too. It will be interesting to see what it is if she remembers.

No clue, Melli, but I'd love to know how the story ends...
:)

Barbara - she won't remember! LOL!

Mar - LOL! That IS the end Mar! It's gone now! Mom's memory is only about 2 minutes long - at BEST! We can sometimes have 3 or 4 rounds of the same question and answer within about a 2 minute time span! It's sad -- but I just have to laugh and get on with the program!

Melli, post some picture signs along the walls for MIL to find her way ...Bless you dear melli... and God grant you with plenty of patience...
Love ya, baba

Baba -- we actually have TRIED that!!! We took them down when she asked Krysti WHO put all these crazy signs up? And what are they for? ROFL!!! (we left up the one on the bathroom door that says DO NOT CLOSE THIS DOOR -- the kitty's litter box is in there and she kept shuttin' him out! For sOMe reason, she obeys THAT sign!)

Melli -- she did need a lang -- language. You deserve a medal.

Maybe she is wanting a 'cane'!!!! Maybe you could go in the kitchen with her and she if she can put her hands on what she is looking for.
It is SO hard, isn't it?? You are in my prayers friend.

Oh LOL! She at least listens to the cat box sign - that's good! A lang ... going to look it up on Dictionary.com ... found this:

lang /læŋ/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[lang] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation
–adjective, noun, adverb Scot. and North England.
long1.

So she's looking for something long. You KNOW - a LANG! LMAO! Oh you are a strong woman ... can you laugh in front of her, or does that offend? Because, laughter, well it's healing! ;)

Barbara - It IS! Oh yes - it IS! *nods*

Gattina - I'm starting to think "clueless" is the IN way to be!

Jane - A CANE! Could be... but I doubt it... she doesn't think she's old! As a matter of fact... she tells people FREQUENTLY that I am her MOTHER!!!

Jae - SOMETIMES I can laugh at her (or with her) -- this was a situation where we both laughed. But sometimes ... NO! You just have to be kind of sensitive to when something is upsetting her, or when she's just laughin' at herself! Annnnnnnnnd... I admit that sometimes I miss the mark on the sensitivity issue... some days I feel down right wicked.

I'm sorry, but that is too funny!!

My mom was a geriatric nurse and she has a gazillion stories just like that! I giggle every time...
