Thursday 13 ...

13 Things
Beginning with Letter

That MAY describe Melli...

1. Education. Despite the fact that I have very little advanced education, and what I do have came from trade school rather than college, I have managed to spend 11 years of my adult life IN the field of Education -- as a substitute teacher. It still amazes me that a person of MY educational background can DO that -- that the requirements are not MUCH higher -- and it also amazes me how much MORE I learned in those 11 years of TEACHING than I ever did during my 12 years as a student!!!

2. Elephant. *grin*
And speaking of education... ELEPHANT was the very first word I ever learned to spell as a child! Yep -- even before CAT or DOG. I don't believe in starting small!

3. Emotions.
Believe it or not, I am not an overly emotional person. I do not cry during MOST sad movies, or at MOST weddings (my children's will be the exception)... I'm not terribly sentimental. BUT... whatever I AM feeling -- you're probably going to know it! If I'm happy or sad, amused or annoyed ... you pretty much know where you stand with me!

4. Exaggerate.
This is something that I never ever EVER ... EVER... do! Nope! Not in a million billion k'jillion years! If hungry tigers were chasing me for my FLESH I would NEVER think of exaggerating!!! Cross my heart and hope to DIE!

5. Excited.
It does not take MUCH to get this girl excited! (it is too different than emotional!) I get excited over the simplest things! Sometimes it amazes even ME! Nature especially tends to excite me! Sunsets, squirrels, storms ... hmmm... lots of "s" words...

6. Eggs.
How do I love them? Let me COUNT the ways! I LOVE them scrambled, fried, boiled, poached, deviled, pickled and in egg salad! Eggs Benedict and omelettes too! Can you think of any I missed? Maaaaan I love eggs! It's really amazing I don't have high cholesterol!!!

7. Easy.
I am forever looking for the "easy" way out. I don't often find it... *sigh*

8. Exercise.
I used to be waaaay better at this! I LOVE what it does for my body... but... check out number 7 -- yep... I'm still lookin' for the eeeeeasy way out!!! LOL!

9. Eyes.
Mine are green. I wish they were brown - but they're not... they are green. I love eyes. When I talk to you, I want see your eyes. And when I listen to you, I still want to see your eyes. I really do believe our eyes are windows into our soul. They say so much! Some people have a hard time looking you in the eye... but not me. I love to see your eyes!

10. Escapades.
I am a Big Fan of escapades! (not Ice Capades - though I like them too!) Escapades! The dictionary defines escapades as: a usually adventurous action that runs counter to approved or conventional conduct. Hm... yes! That might explain several situations some of you have found me in! (riding through car washes on top of my truck comes to mind...)

11. Escalators.
Aren't they FUN? I remember when I was a kid, the THRILL of stepping ON to one - and having MADE it! My mother was forever warning me of the dangers of escalators and of being careful not to trip getting on one! (i guess tripping getting off was okay... but don't trip getting ON!) And I can remember when I was VERY small her having a death grip on my arm to ensure that I didn't trip getting on -- and how relieved I was when I finally graduated to being allowed to step onto it by myself!!! I still love escalators today! And I think ALL office buildings should have them... because...

12. Elevators.
I hate them! I'm not afraid to use them. I do use them all the time. But there is always that little inkling in the back of your mind about WHAT IF??? What IF it stops midway? What IF it should suddenly drop 20 stories? Yea.... I'm claustrophobic people! Elevators and I just don't seem to hit it off! Gimme a good ol' escalator any day!

13. Earthquake.
I have never experienced an earthquake... but I do WANT to. Not a 7.9 or anything like that! But maybe just a little ol' 6.5.... a little shake, rattle, and roll! I wanna be like Carole King! I wanna feel the earth move under my feet... just once! Well... maybe twice! (If I like it!)

*wee little note*
today is my first periodontal procedure...
prayers are welcome!
Oh... and I won't be around...
I'm LOOPY... again.

Dear Loopy!!

First..Yes I am first!! I also agree with you that our eyes are the windows to our souls. I have always thought that. it seems like it just should be that way. You can tell from people's eyes how they feel almost what they are thinking sometimes.
I hope that you loopiness does not last a long time. i need to go to the dentist too. Oh no!!
ME again!!

You're not around, but you're not missing. Yep, that's pretty loopy.

Oh! Flan! That's oe of the ways I love eggs!

I agree, you never exaggerate, you are just too calm and serious for that, (lol)
During the only earthquake we ever had here in Belgium which even caused some damages I slept !! Everybody was hanging out of the windows not me ! The next day a collegue told me she thought her dog sleeping on the bed had scratched himself and that's why her bed was shaking ! She hadn't realized either !

Excellent list but how do you manage nr. 6? No cholesterol/ I love eggs too, I could eat one or two every single day!
I know where the question mark and the exclamation mark are, none of the rest, because my computer is playing games on me, sorry about that.

I grew up with earthquakes and I have experienced many but none really strong. Nothing to look forward to!

Happy TT!!!!!

Wishing you all the best with the dental procedure...it isn't fun at all.

{{{HUGS}}} and prayers for your dental appointment!!!

Loved your list...but you can experience the earthquake on your own!

Thanks for dropping by my T13 today.

Great list! I totally agree with you about eyes, by the way. Hope your periodontal procedure goes well!

Excellent list. I confess I am a very emotional person.

Floozie -- Mama always says Loopy Is as Loopy does! It lasted as long as it needed to I reckon! I'm good now though! Get yourself IN and get checked! KEEP your teeth! Trust me on this!

Quilly -- Flan? Ahhh! I'm not sure I've EVER had Flan! I bet I would like it though! Now I gotta go google a recipe for it!

Gattina -- that would be just MY luck! Get an earthquake and SLEEP through it! I would be SO mad! LOL!

Mar -- I don't KNOW how I manage low cholesterol -- because I DO eat a LOT of eggs! I did see a new study out recently though that was saying that eggs are not NEARLY so much an enemy as has been thought in recent years... so maybe the "new" egg info will let us know soon!

Amberstar -- it took 3X the normal dose of "relax me" stuff to get me through this appointment! They didn't believe me last week when I told them it would! Those drugs NEVER work on me!!! They found out this morning though... I held them up for quite some time before getting drowsy enough to let them do it!

Jane -- LOL! I'll remember that Jane! Dear God, please leave Jane OUT of my earthquake! Thank you! Amen. Thanks for the prayers babe!

Cindy & Maribeth -- Thank you both!

Connie -- oh you're EASY! I'm diggin out the dirty plastic wear now! *blush* Thank you!

How I love eggs, let me count the ways. With my high cholesterol I must restrict how many I eat. I have learned to like egg white omelets.

I'll be thinking about you during your dental work. I hate having any dental work done. I don't even like cleanings.

Wow...I've been out of commission for a few days and missed this list. I think I'm dreading "E Week" in this TT world.

You ARE right, Excited and Escapades are PERFECT words that describe Melli!

Hugs,

Susan
