A Poem A Day - Day 12... and Our Easter

So We Decided To Keep Her
She came to us, Miss 3.5
with dimpled cheeks
and deep brown eyes
And she melted our hearts
So we decided to keep her.
She needed a Dad, and she needed a Mom
and a whole lot of love
and someone to depend on
And she melted our hearts
So we decided to keep her.
She stepped into our world
with a shy doubtful smile
this utterly beautiful imp of a child
And she melted our hearts
So we decided to keep her.
But wait... that's wrong! The decision was made
before we ever saw her face
before we knew those long brown curls
before we met this precious girl
we knew that she would melt our hearts
So we decided to love her.
She came to us, Miss 3.5
with dimpled cheeks
and deep brown eyes
And she melted our hearts
So we decided to keep her.
She needed a Dad, and she needed a Mom
and a whole lot of love
and someone to depend on
And she melted our hearts
So we decided to keep her.
She stepped into our world
with a shy doubtful smile
this utterly beautiful imp of a child
And she melted our hearts
So we decided to keep her.
But wait... that's wrong! The decision was made
before we ever saw her face
before we knew those long brown curls
before we met this precious girl
we knew that she would melt our hearts
So we decided to love her.
The assignment today was to fill in the blank "So we decided to (blank)", and make that the title of our poem. If possible, I have had less time today for writing then I had yesterday! And by the time I actually sat down to write it tonight I was so tired I can't see straight! OY! I will probably actually re-write this at some later date... but for tonight it will do! But I know I can do much better with it!

It has been a FABULOUS Easter! I enjoyed both of my church services soooooo much today! Dawn and I did a GREAT job with our skit - very few mistakes and none the congregation would notice! (wish I could say the same for my Lectoring job! I was supposed to read 1 Cor 15:1-11... but the marker was in the wrong spot - and I started at vs. 12!!! WHAT a goofball! It got fixed! I started over! LOL!) See? I can even mess up an EASTER service! Both services were just wonderful though! The sunrise service was coooooooold! But it was also the dedication of our little outdoor chapel - and it was well worth the shivers to be able to announce (at the top of my lungs) HE IS RISEN! JESUS IS ALIIIIIIVE! ... just as the sun was coming up in the background! I have sO much FUN at church! Oh! OH! OH!!! And YES! We DID sing Jesus Christ Is Risen Today -- at BOTH services! YAY!
Then the kids came over for the afternoon and supper. UNfortunately Derek had to work. The life of a chef... I can't wait until he becomes an electrician! But all my other chicks were here! And Luz had a grand time with her Easter basket, and hunting for eggs. We all just had a great visit ... and I'm just bushed! I'm going to post a few pics - and then I'm heading to bed! WAY early for me -- but I've been up since 5:00 AM - which is also waaaaay early for me!

It's so much fun to look after easter eggs !
Our Easter was rather boring, the weather was not nice and we just did nothing. All our friends were gone on holidays.

You were as much a gift to the child, as the child was gift to you. It was definitely a win/win situation. I am glad your Easter was brimming with hope and joy.

You know, my sister adopted a little girl from Korea. Some people say how she is lucky to find a home with us. I say WE are lucky that WE FOUND HER!
She is now 26 and the light of all our lives!!!!!
God is so good!!!
