Of Mom's and Tow Trucks... Quality Time with Krysti
Dinner outside at Castiglia's Italian restaurant.I spent a good day visiting with Krysti in Fredericksburg yesterday! We spent a little bit of time "potting around" downtown -- in and out of a few little shops - antique and otherwise. But we ended up in her *NEW* pottery place -- Pots & Palettes -- to do a bit of painting! I had to laugh because I drove an hour and half to go sit in another pottery studio with Krysti!!! LOL! But she had had a really rough night the night before -- she thought she was going to have to deliver a baby - and was actually kind of psyched about that - but she didn't. But they no sooner got back to the Squad House and got parked than a call went out - one of her fellow EMT's had been involved in an accident and flipped his ambulance WITH a patient in the back! So she took off to go cover that call and it turned into a nightmare! She ended up not getting to bed until 8:00 am -- and then I arrived at noon! LOL! So painting was an appropriate activity for the day. We each painted a witch for Halloween...

don't know if I'll get them back before Halloween - so I
figured I might as well show them to you!
After that we went looking for a little kitchen shop I wanted to look in - but we couldn't find it, and the only one we did find had closed for the night. So we just headed back to the car and stopped at Castiglia's for dinner on the way -- it was very good. Krysti got two of the BIGGEST slices of pizza I have ever seen - 2 slices was like HALF of a LARGE pizza! Incredible... I got manicotti - and it was great! I haven't had Italian food in aaaaaaaages! At that point (during dinner) Krysti was getting offers for evening entertainment that were FAR more interesting than hanging out with Mom! She felt kind of guilty - but I told her that if she wanted to run along and play that was fine! If I were 20 and some (really hot!) guy offered ME the chance to go ride along on a TOW TRUCK and pick up vehicles for the evening... I'm sure I would choose that too! Mom's and Tow Truck's just can't compete! ROFL!!! Of course, that didn't mean I got home early -- oh no! She left her wallet in my car and I had to turn around 1/3 of the way home and take it BACK to her! LOL!!! .... kids! Gotta LOVE 'em!!!

It was good for your daughter to have you there after her roof night. It was good that Mom was gone. All things worked together for good.

Oh my darlin' what a mother you are. Poor Krysti but a woman's work is never done. I hope everything turned out okay. I'm proud of ya...ya didn't get revenge for the text message LOL. Love the witches :) Sounds like a great mother daughter time, less lack of sleep :) Aloha

Looks as if you had a lot of fun ! now I wonder what "Manicotti" are, although Halloween is approaching, which could be an excuse, manicotti mean "cooked hands" and I am not sure if you really ate cooked hands ! I have never heard of this plate !

Great sounding day even if sleep deprived! The little witches will be very cute once fired...I hope you post them once finished. Question: are you creating another photo scavenger hunt? When I started to read this, I thought for sure that you needed a tow truck when you went to visit Krysti. I thought "Oh NO!" And I was so glad to hear that you DID in fact have a good visit. I am excited to see your shiny witches! I'll bet they'll be so cute.

Ya'lls witches look great...and a bit scary for a little girl I know.
Glad you got a little time away from Mom and had a bit of time for yourself.
Oh yikes...I just saw on the news that the extreme weather has caused a shortage of pumpkins! and other food crops. However, some group apparently will have some in time for the holidays. yum
