Friday's Fave Five

Susanne at Living to Tell the Story , is hostess of Friday Fave Five in which we share our five favorite things from the past week. Thank you Susanne for hosting this inspirational sharing game!

1.
I missed last week's FFF because I was off at the Women Of Faith Conference. That is always such a GREAT time of PRAISING God and awesome fellowship with many friends all at once! I was blessed by this years conference as I seem to be every year. SOMEthing always touches me.

2. I taught my first Sunday School CHILDREN's class this week! I am co-teaching 2nd grade with a friend and the first week I let her do the teaching and I played the role of Aide just to get a handle on how this is all supposed to go! Michelle has taught SS before... so I yielded to experience! (I'm not stupid!) But this week was my turn and I prayed, and God answered... and it went REALLLLY well! I was very very happy that the children seemed to enjoy the class! I'm also thrilled that we only have 6 2nd graders... so it is a very cozy little group!

3. Monday night we celebrated 3 birthdays in my Bible Study - and one of them was MINE! My friend, Vicki, wrote THE most beautiful birthday prayer for me! Oh, it just touched me sO much! She is such a dear friend! And Janie - our newest member - and someone I used to work with at Curves - how great to be reacquainted in this place - brought white chocolate chip macadamia nut cookies. OY VEY!!! This group is just such a blessing to me! (but not to my waistline! LOL!)

4. God answered a prayer this week in a way that made me hyper-aware of how quickly he takes us seriously when the desire of our heart matches up with the desire of His heart - even when what you both want MAY NOT be a good thing... at the onset. It also brought me face to face with how much He wants us to live our lives ONE DAY AT A TIME - give us THIS DAY our daily bread -- and be completely dependent upon HIM for it! I thank Him for this opportunity to watch Him at work. And I thank Him for loving me sO much!

5. THIS is being delivered... momentarily...

... to replace THIS...

which hasn't worked for about 6 months now...
LOL!

So, I haven't baked any cakes... but...
Hubby's done a LOT of cookin' on the grill!
He's more thrilled than I am...
for sure!

Happy birthday, Melli! May God give you many many more years, AND may this year be your best year ever!

Yay for getting a new stove. I got a new one last year after having the same stove since 1981. It was so exciting! I am slightly jealous to see you got one with a smooth cooktop. I can't have one of those kind of stoves because we cook with natural gas.

I'm also excited for you that you got to go to a Women of Faith conference. I know you were blessed!

I really appreciate your attitude regarding praying about the desires of your heart. I've learned too, that we have to live one day at a time. It's great that you said, "I thank Him for this opportunity to watch Him at work" I think that is the attitude He wants us to have.

Melli, you're such a blessing!

I was just reading your FFF when your comment came through on mine!

A very happy birthday to you, belatedly!

I think you'd make a wonderful children's teacher.

Have fun with the new oven! I'd have a hard time going 6 months without one.

Love #4.

Hey, we share a birthday week! Happy birthday to you!

I haven't been around much for the summer either and missed you last week. It's been a busy time!

Enjoy your grilled food. =)

Happy birthday!

Your birthday was Monday? You're kidding... I mean what a coincidence mine was also Monday :) Happy birthday, Melli! Glad your Sunday School class went well. I need more focus to hit it right on the desires of my heart matching with His. Happy weekend!

Large group gatherings, like Women of Faith, are great to attend. I especially enjoy the corporate singing. Thrills me to my toes! So glad you went and were touched by God.

Bless you for stepping out in faith to teach a children's Sunday School class. I oversee children's ministry and I know that in all churches teachers are always needed. May God bless the work of your hands and your faithful attitude.

Congrats on the new stove. Happy baking!

Did you go to Indianapolis for Women of Faith? I had a friend there.

Blessings on you and your Sunday School class.

Love the stove. I have a glass cook top, too. You sure don't miss cleaning under those burners or scrubbing those drip pans!

Please tell me that this isn't your birthday present though. I don't think housework necessities (yes, cooking is housework) are really presents.

Pffft my darlin' That just looks like more work to me. LOL It looks like ours. It's got no burners. They are all hidden. I don't know how to work it well and before you ask...I don't want to learn LOL....hmmm tomorrow is a big day...I bet there is going to be something on my blog :) Have a great weekend :)
