My son, Mathew, grinding the rail at one of our local skate parks.
After years of t-ball, baseball, & soccer, THIS is the sport both of
my boys finally settled on! Who'da thunk it? I never would have
thought this would be something I would really enjoy - but I DO enjoy
watching them! They are both pretty awesome skaters!

I have an 11 year old that loves skateboarding too. It is fun to watch.

Looks like he is an expert on this.

Mine is up too.

Have a restful weekend!

Wow! I'd say you're one brave mom to watch that happening and not have your heart drop to your knees!

Great action though! :)

Wow! Cool shot! What balance!

Thanks for stopping by mine :)

Re Menopause, I thought it was a hoot too! Especially during the Beach Boys tribute ("Good Vibrations, etc.)! And the Tina Turner part!

Great photo! He's obviously still of the age where nothing scares him... I used to be like that too, but then I became older and more cautious :)

Great act. It takes courage and great skills to do that.
Thanks for passing by.

Please tell me that he made it off of the railing OK. That shot reminds me of something I saw on TV somewhere...let's just say the guy on TV didn't have a very nice finish to his stunt. OUCH!

That is a great action shot! Going to tournaments should be a lot more interesting than going to a baseball game!

By Blogger michele, at 7/22/2006 9:43 AM

that is the most AWESOME action shot! I'm impressed! I would be so scared to watch my little boy do that......lol....oh the teenage years....lol...I"m not looking forward to them.

thanks for stopping by mine btw! :D

cool action. I just hope he never falls. :)

Well, at last I know what that is called - kids do that in my neighborhood too - grinding the rail. I just called it terrifying skateboard move!
Thanks for sharing.
And for your lovely comment :)

Awesome shot of an awesome stunt. How DO they do that?

By Blogger Mitey Mite, at 7/22/2006 10:03 AM

Skaters make some of the best Internet videos.... You see them all the time performing that same move, only they never seem to remember to get their board in between them and the rail......

Such great balance to do that! I couldn't watch...I'd be scared he'd tip over!

Have a great Saturday...mine's up, too!

Scares the daylights out of me!
But great action shot!

By Blogger Maribeth, at 7/22/2006 11:46 AM

I love watching good skaters. I think as a mom it would freak me out ... I am always affraid of little one getting hurt while doing her gymnastics. I guess that is all part of it though. This is a great shot.

LOL! My son Kyle was a "skater" he loved it. We had a ramp in our driveway and had to park on the street for years. He never broke a body part either....

Ya know, he's grown up to be a fine young man. He's the one that just became a daddy.

They just like to scare the bejezus out of us!

I have just one question, does he wear a cup when he's grinding the rail? ;)

Happy Saturday!

Definite action :)

I always get nervous watching those skateboarders do those wild things on the handrails. My son skateboards but not that much (he doesn't have time plus he's older) and I worry about him too.

Great action shot, BTW!

You must be a calm mom to watch that! YIKES that looks scary to me! :0)

My action photo is up too!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 7/23/2006 1:17 AM

Very cool sport. But I think I am too old for getting started on it, but then again - it looks fun.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 7/23/2006 2:04 AM

Eww... scary! But then again - I'm a whimp *grin*

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 7/23/2006 5:41 AM

My son wants to do this SO badly... he so needs a skate mentor!

By Blogger -tnchick-, at 7/24/2006 12:49 AM

I don't know how in the world these guys (& gals) do this. It's amazing to watch! Cool choice for this week's theme.
Thanks for stopping by to check my action shot out. =)
