Church was AWESOME again today! I was there for both services because I ushered the 8:00 service this morning. We had a visiting Pastor -- but he continued the Prayers God Will Answer YES To series! And he was gooooooood! So... the prayer of the day today? Lord, make me your instrument! YES!!! He WILL always answer YES to that one!!! I LOVE it! And using the story about The Frog Prince, this Pastor assured us that the MORAL of that story is that it is the Church's duty to be frog kissers! WE are to share the love of Christ with allllllllll the frogs - and even the toads - of the world! Give 'em all a kiss and let the Holy Spirit turn 'em into what God intended them to be!!! But we should also not forget that WE all start out as frogs! Born of sin, stained by Satan... but saved by Christ's blood - and transformed - from a frog into one of God's beloved Prince or Princesses! Of course, his sermon was much longer than that - and I hung on every word - but this is the readers digest version!
The children's message was great today too! Shawn brought in a trumpet. She removed it from the case and the kids identified it. Then she said that insturments make MUSIC - and that MUSIC can be calming (like David playing the harp for King Saul) or it can be JOYFUL (like Miriam playing the tambourine when they were lead out of Egypt!) or music could be POWERFUL (like in the horns at Jericho - when the walls came tumbling down!). Then she told them she doesn't know how to play the trumpet -- but her friend does. But God has gifted her with other talents - and us too - and that He wants US to be HIS instruments! But she asked the children, what would happen if this trumpet was put back in it's case and just left to sit in the corner for a long long time. Of course the kids (being the smarty pants that they are) said that it would collect DUST - and maybe even some COBwebs! And that was right! And if we don't ask God to make us His instrument, we might as well just be sittin' in the corner collecting dust too! We have to say YES! Make ME your instrument Lord! Use ME!!! And He will! You can count on it! I LOVE that!!!
So, now I'm going over to Amanda's house to play in the pool, and hopefully was the DUST off myself! But before I go, I just wanna give you something....

When I was working there was a pastor that worked closely with the unit where I was. He told me I had the "gift of tongues", because he could tell me something and I could make sense of the awful mess he said and put it on paper for him. *LOL*
We have had a few flowers on the squash, but no real fruit yet. There were a few tomatoes..very small, on the vines. Our beans aren't going to make it, but you know...that fall garden thing.
Have fun swimming and playing with the kids.

Our two little tomatoes are growing. Our roses are doing very well and our strawberry plant will have berries if the birds don't eat them.
Glad yopu had a good Worship service. It makes the week go so much better.

Back home in Hawaii nobody is protecting my peppers or tomatoes and the birds are having a feast!
Church today was full of joyful music. The Pastor called it "the best of 2009" because the choir picked their favorite songs of the year and performed them ALL today.
I was less than impressed with the children's sermon. Pastor called the kids forward and they stood with him and watched the choir lady pass out awards -- to adult choir members -- then Pastor said a prayer and dismissed the children. They looked bewildered. I thought it sad.
Pastor's sermon was interesting, but his voice is so mellow and smooth I had to squirm a lot to keep me awake!

We have a very nasty little chipmunk eating our garden leaves. Once the vegies get big enough he leaves them be, but the small stuff...all gone! Bugger!
