~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I know that it SOUNDS like I'm being awfully quite around here these days ... but honestly? I just don't have a THING to tell you! There is nothing going on around here, except for preparations for VBS, which at this stage is mostly shopping... I'm just a boring ol' Melli right now! Even Dr. John has quit saving me for last, because welllllllll.... I just don't deserve to BE saved for last anymore! I can't help it. *shrug* As Forest Gump would say... Boring is as boring does... I mean... I could show you pictures of Mom with her undies over top her shorts... but even I won't stoop THAT low! Or... I could show you pictures of my DEAD poison ivy! That's pretty exciting to me! Hey - Round Up Poison Ivy PLUS tough brush killer works GOOOOOD! And no -- I'm not resorting to advertising on my blog! I'm just telling you. Dennis is very verrrrrrrrry allergic to poison ivy and it has gotten out of control in our woods and was even invading our front yard tree! THAT was when I got serious! Yep! The minute he came in and said "Honey! YOU have to get rid of that vine growing up our tree! It's poison ivy and I'm not touchin' it!" Well DUH! I'm not touchin' it either! I bought the 2 gallon bottle of RoundUp spray -- and I sprayed that vine 3 times! And I sprayed the playground, and under the DECK and around the AC units. And then I went and bought two refill bottles! Poison ivy doesn't stand a CHANCE in MY neck o' da woods! LOL! Not only that -- but now I know how good it works I get this evil little attitude and I chant my mantra while I spray. DIE poison ivy! DIE!!! And then I let out an evil LAUGH!!! Muuuuuahhhahahahahaa! ... ... yea. Things are THAT boring around here! I'm not complaining though. We're not having any Major Disasters either...
Well, since boredom often breeds creativity, I've no doubt you'll be up to something soon!
Ominous sepia clouds!
And I'm singing - Poison Ivy, Poison Ivy.....
YOu are just too funny. Now if it were me I would take the picture of mom...and display it proudly...talk about evilness...I hope your boredom or should I say nothing happening there ends soon. I have such a hard time believing you can't find something every day. :)
First, love the picture. Beautiful! Second, I hate poison ivy too. And I get it every year! Why, you ask? Well, my neighbor owns the field in back of us and she likes to keep it wild! Yep, the ivy grows there, my dogs go through it and then come home to Mama for loving. I've tried begging her, wearing long sleeves in 90 degree heat for mercy, but alas, she likes her "wild flowers".
Well, your picture is not boring and you made boring very funny.
Boredom is the seed of creation. As long as you let your mind work.
Great picture.
I can just picture you in camo attacking the poison ivy!!
Quiet times are good -- maybe you're just shoring up for the craziness of VBS week.
Maybe you should drink some wine instead of spraying roundup on vine !
Here is a terrible thunderstorm, what a noise it makes in the mountains !
Compared to my life that is really exciting. A war with poison Ivy and your winning. That is exciting.
A beautiful sorta sepia picture. Momm with her underpants outside. Dennis asking you to save him.
Sounds really exciting to me.
What makes you think you aren't last? I'm starting much earlier.
By Blogger Dr.John, at 6/25/2009 4:17 PM
It took me a few minutes looking at your picture to figure it out. For a minute I thought it was upside down. It works really well in the sepia.
We aren't allergic to poison ivy, thank You God, but that could change anytime. I have no idea if we have any or not, but the guy that put the rebar in our pool when it was being built wound up in the hospital and they said it was poison ivy. The pool contractor got mad at me for not telling the rebar guy we had poison ivy. I told him we didn't. Did some research and found out that if you have ever had it on your land it can be way down even with roots.
I just hope you haven't defoliated your entire yard with the Round Up.
It is a glyphoside and will kill most everything with a broad leaf. I'd love to spray the honeysuckle that grows all over the place here. This year we used a paintbrush to paint the weed killer on the honeysuckle instead of spraying it and killing my neighbor's roses. I'm pretty sure that would have miffed her no end, since they have spent a lot of time and money on the yard.
Your life may get really interesting before you know it. :)
Glad you won the battle against the poison ivy. That round up stuff works great.
You're picture looks lovely too in an Ansel Adams type way. Thanks for stopping by.
The cloud post is fantastic! Somehow you make poison ivy into a funny incident in your writing. Great job!
I like your cloud picture - it's got a great brooding, ominous quality.
But your poison ivy story was hilarious!! Die, ivy!
Very cool sepia sky shot. Sorry you're bored. I'm not bored, just overwhelmed with stuff to do. That's when I take a cat nap. ;-)
I like your mantra while spraying!
Thanks for stopping by my blog. I'm visiting a tad late, but better late than never.
