Raw Talent....

Luz has a new trick!
(and not even 5 years old yet!)
LOL!

Actually she was FULL of tricks today! She was like Felix the Cat -- a whole BAG of tricks! She is starting to learn to swim. We went to her pool - even though it was only about 70 degrees with a very cool breeze blowing! Needless to say, Mommy nor Nana got IN the pool -- but Luz did! And I watched for about an hour or so as she showed me every new fangled thing she's learned 17 times or so each! Of course, had it been HOT out, I would have watched 60 times each - and taught her a few more! But that wasn't happening today! We left the pool and went to the park instead! It was a beauuuuuuuuuutiful day for the park!!! Then I stayed and had dinner with them, and got to read Luz her bedtime story. AND I got to see her blow bubbles with her bubble gum! It really IS the little things in life....

Life can be sooooo good!!!

Life's little pleasures. :-)

It's good she had her hair pulled back while making bubbles -- one of my childhood memories is having to get my hair cut because gum got stuck in it and my mom couldn't get it out.

Too cold for me to swim! Give me my warm Hawaii waves!

I remember learning to blow bubbles with my gum when I was about that age -- she looks like she's doing a great job.

Luz is blowing a good bubble there.
Has she gotten it in her hair yet?

Can I come live with you? 70 degrees sounds so much nicer than the 101 it got to yesterday after the weather guys said it would only be 98.

I've stepped into Hawaii's "warm" water. Shoot...it is COLD all the time. I think it is a steady 72 year round. However, we were there in December for our anniversary. I just looked it up and here it says ~81 which is better.

There's hardly anything better in the whole world than sharing these simply yet exciting learning experiences with a child. Luz is very lucky to have such a cool Nana!

When I was her age, I don't think we had bubble gum in Belgium. On second thoughts, yes, we did, but I did not get any! LOL! She's a natural, I think I've said that before didn't I? I'm trying to catch up a little here, I'm glad your "trash can" garden is thriving! Oh and nobody but Melli would think of adding little lightening bugs in her Fave Five's? Loved the humming bird for Ruby Tuesday, and the fly on the flower, just perfect shot! You're getting real good with that camera, aren't you? Oh and I would have given money to watch you wait for that airplane on top of that picnic table!! ROFL!! Loved that last shot too, wrong way, that one was priceless.
Instead of being bored, I think you still had way too much fun while I was away! It's good to be home again, and be in on the fun again! Thanks for all the comments you left on my blog, they meant so much to me!

Blowing bubbles is a hard thing for kids to learn so of course you have a budding Genius!!
i found the red crepe myrtle downtown SAvannah...SOMEWHERE!! Barb (Baba) has told me that I can have some of hers. They are the pretty dark pink ones.so a trip here to get hers would be okay. It is just too darn HOT to go dig them up and then get them planted,. i bought a beautiful orange day lily and it is going to have to make it for a bit before it is planted in the yard..WHEW!! Our weather has been really hot..

In the UP 70 was a heat wave. Everybody went swimming when it was 70.
Isn't it wonderful being A Nana. Seventeen times and you enjoyed every time I'm sure.
She does a great job of blowing bubbles.
