HoHoHo!
Mom and I were shopping at the mall the other day - and as we passed the Santa stand we noticed that there was not a single child in line... a miracle in itself! Well, you know... always after that photo op, I encouraged Mom to go on over and sit on his lap! (it didn't take much encouraging!) I asked how much the photos were ... and then asked if I could just take a snapshot! (good grief... how do parents afford Santa anymore???) They were very accomodating. You can tell just by looking at him that he is the REAL one... and he was a doll! Mom told him she'd like a boyfriend for Christmas and he said he'd do what he could. I told him she was actually hoping to date HIM - but he said Mrs. Claus frowns on such arrangements! He was cute as a button! As we left, Mom was beaming. She said that was the FIRST time she's EVER sat on Santa's lap! I just grinned thinking to myself that everything Mom does anymore is done for the "first time" every single day! Sometimes several times a day! But when I got home and told Dennis the story, he agreed that it probably actually WAS the first time! When mom was a child, the town she grew up in - they didn't have such opportunities as to go visit with Santa... and by the time she had her kids she would have felt silly sittin' on his lap. So I guess NOW was her time! I'm glad she got to see the REAL one!

She looks really nice, would never believe that she is sick. In one way she is lucky to do things for the first time several times a day especially when it is something nice. But I am scandalized that you have to pay for sitting on a Santas lap ! We have no Santas here but Santa Claus before the 6th Dec and they are payed by the shops. If you do the picture yourself and there is no photograph it is free of course and on top the children get some chocolate or sweets.

BTW Mr. Gattino didn't know what a MIL was when I said this once in a conversation so I explained that not only there are MILs but also FILs DILs, SIls and BILs. Then I had to stop because he fainted !!

What a cute Santa....I'm surprised you weren't on Santa's lap too! What a wonderful way to look at Alzheimer's disease as having your first experience all over again every day. I love doing some first's with Emma. One of my favorite movies is 50 firsts dates....Love the picture. It is keeper!

A wonderful photos. Everyone should have an opportunity to sit on Santa's lap sometime during their life. I'm glad your MIL had such fun with Santa and yes, he looks very real.
Blessings,
Mary

That is such a beautiful picture and she's glowing!! Santa looks fabulous. I'm sure this meant a lot to her. Did you frame it for her to have too? I'll bet she'd like looking at it.

Wonderful photo - we only do Santa visits with the REAL Santa, too.
I won't pay for photographing a fake Santa! Especially at their cost. LOL
Santa comes to my kiddo's school and have their photos made there, professionally... so no mall pix anymore.
If you care to see my kids Santa photos - they are here and here. If I see him out, I'll get my photo with him, too. hehe
