Randomness...

Bloggin' Babe, Baba tagged me for this one this week.

1. Link to the person who tagged you.

2. Post the rules on your blog.
3. Write six random things about yourself.
4. Tag six people at the end of your post and link to them.
5. Let each person know they’ve been tagged and leave a comment on their blog
6. Let the tagger know when your entry is posted.

1. I am the youngest of 7 children in my family. As such I will always and forever be considered "the baby". However... this "baby" is also considered the "brat" and is up for adoption! :-)

2. When I was just a weeee little girl -- about 2 I think - maybe not quite 2 - one of my sisters took me for a ride on the back of her bicycle. You remember when they had those old metal seats over the back fender? Yea... and I stuck my heal in the spokes of the bike ... while it was going. it was so mangled they didn't stitch it back on - they just slapped it together and taped it up! How it healed is how it healed! Actually... it's amazing - but 50 years later you can barely tell! (on the outside...)

3. One of my very favorite childhood memories is of a vacation that we took to Florida. But on the way to my grandparents home in St. Petersburg, we stopped for a brief visit in St. Augustine! Now, I 'm sure we visited some truly magnificent things in St. Augustine - but I was only 5 or 6 and the thing that impressed ME the most was an attraction that I can NOT for the life of me seem to locate! I don't know the name of it - which would certainly help -- but it was just a wee small building (and remember - I was wee small myself) and when you walked into it, it SEEMED like it was lopsided -- like the ceiling was high on one end, but very low on the other... that the floor went up or down depending where you were standing... but in actuallity it was all one size all the way through. It was all an optical illusion. Of course, we only made this stop ONCE in all the years - and THIS would be what I remember. So, if any of you out there knOw of this place... please fill me in. I would love to go back someday! (I don't think it was part of Ripley's -- I don't know if Ripley's was even there yet way back then...)

4. Another fun stop on that trip was Weeki Wachee -- the home of live mermaids! (and sometimes I wonder if my wee little brain hasn't mixed up the two and maybe that little house is nearer to Weeki Wachee and not even IN St. Augustine!)

5. My favorite Starbucks drink is Venti Shaken Iced Tea Lemonade (black) with only ONE pump of sweetener! I like several of the Frappaccinos too -- but I don't really care much for their hot coffee. If I want a hot coffee, I'd rather go to 7-11! Or WaWa! LOL!

6. Christmas always goes up at my house over the Thanksgiving weekend. I have achieved my goal once again this year! It's UP! It's not "perfect" yet - but it's up! We have 400 brand spankin' new lights on the tree! If I have light issues THIS year I may give up trees altogether! (we have had light issues a LOT in the last 4 or 5 years...) So, the stockings are hung, the songs are playing... Snowmen got the place of honor on the mantle this year! (Krysti's choice) I'm ready!

I don't do the taggin' thing -- so if you wanna steal it -- feel free! Have a blessed Sunday! Oh! And just a reminder --- Our DANIEL study starts tomorrow! Whooo hooo! Guess I better get some reading done! LOL!

When I first read your answer to #2, I thought I read "head" instead of "heel." I went from thinking, "How did she get her head in there?" to "Mangled?! What?" So I reread and figured it out. I'm glad your head wasn't mangled -- but sorry your heel was! I imagine that was NOT pleasant. Does it still hurt sometimes? Seems like it would.

I've been in a wonky little building like that, but I don't remember where. Not Florida, though, I don't think. I've been in FL once when Jeremy was interested in Clearwater Christian College and we went to visit it one day and then went to Sea World the next. But I remember the little building from when the kids were small. We went to Discover Place in Charlotte , NC, a lot then, so I am thinking it was there. Maybe you were at a similar place in FL?

Our baby (youngest of six) will always be the baby too. :) Glad your heel healed. :) I love me some Starbucks Mocha Frap - but, like you, no hot coffee. :) And our tree is up and ready now. :)

Hmmm..there's a house like that in Orlando...but I don't know how long it's been there. I can't remember what it's called today.

You really covered the state if you did Weeki Wachee, St. Augustine, AND St. Pete! Wow!

You know, at that time there was also a huge pirate museum over in St. Pete. I wonder if that is where you were...

Hope you're well.

Hugs,

Susan

I read head too. I wonder why?
There is a house like that in Upper Michigan near Newberry or there used to be.
Your meme sounds like your upset with yourself right now. Don't be.
I'll remind my wife the study starts tomorrow.

I know the study starts tomorrow but I will not get the book until Wednesday, so I will read some of Daniel.
My family and I spent out summer vacations in St Petersburg. We had a motel on the water it was much cheaper than the winter. I went to weeki wachee too.

My cousin did the same thing with her heel! I bet every other kid our age had a similar injury.

No Christmas up at our house. May not be. I haven't decided yet. It all seems too commercial to me anymore. I'm getting to be a bitter old thing!

More fun facts about Melli!
If I hadn't had little Lily almost all week my Christmas would be up too. Got to rest a day or two and then I'll be right up there with you.
The little house you talked about might have been the The Mystery House. There was one in St.Augustine in the 60's. One of those that seem to defy gravity. A ball rolls up hill. You seem to be
leaning. There is still one here in WV called the Mystery Hole near where I vacationed as a child and went to college later. You feel dizzy when you come out. Well, I did.

Whoa....deja vu.
Erik likes the tea at Starbucks and dislikes the coffees there...he too prefers 7-11. Amazing.

I know that you know that I know you know about my heel in the bike's spokes too, so I won't comment on that. [kidding!]

LIVE mermaids?!!! That little bit of info will never pass my lips...Bud would make a point of going there if not do a special Mermaid Trip only.

Happy Monday Melli...hope your Thanksgiving was super. I too have been busy decorating since Thursday, I'm done....but only have 100 lights on our tree. LOL

And I read HEAD too! But I'm not the only one! Fun list, I might do it maybe, it gives me a reason to actually write a little, which I do not often enough I think! Should do it more. Let's say that's my (very early) new year's resolution!
