NIcole B's Scavenger Hunt
Today is the last day of May and time for the BIG REVEAL in Nicole B.'s 2nd Scavenger Hunt! This has been sO much fun! I really struggled with a few of the items... and may be pushing it for a couple... but I had a great time looking! This is the last one she's doing for awhile - but she plans another one for in the Fall - so if you think you'd be interested - keep your eyes and ears open! Without further ado, here are my finds!
1. A souvenirThis was the only souvenir I brought home from my
recent trip to Wisconsin, etc. -- other than cheese!
3. A religious building.I was so glad to see this on the list because I have wanted to investigate this building. I thought it was probably a temporary mosque just because of it's unusual design. But when I got there I found that it is actually a Christian worship center - the book under plexiglass is a Bible - opened to the book of John.
4. A fire departmentI used it's little firetruck mailbox for a Ruby Tuesday
earlier this month. I didn't save the mailbox for this hunt because
I thought the "requirement" was a whole fire department!
6. A postcardThis is actually a whole slew of postcards I sent to Mar
from my travels. She collects postcards. I do my best
for her!
The final event.
This stone belongs to my son's best friend.
I visited last week, right before Memorial Day
10. A foreign StampSince I am American, this is definitely a foreign stamp!
An easy task for me, as I collect stamps!
14. A decoration FIXED on a house.I think this was my hardest find! I was starting
to think I was going to have to go BUY something
and fix it on to MY house!
but I WISH it was! Krysti came home
from Europe with it and I was sO jealous!
18. A telephone booth.THIS is my plain ol' stupid American telephone booth.
Ella was with me that day - so she modeled!
23. Something carved.I have to tell ya -- my husband is a really GOOD wood
carver. But he didn't carve this. His UNCLE did! His
uncle is an even BETTER wood carver! And he painted
it too!
25. Something rural.I guess a flower and vegetable stand counts as rural.
I didn't see any in the cities I drove through!
Nicole B... this has been sO much fun, and I really THANK you for hosting it! I don't participate in the voting thing... not asking for votes anyway... but I will vote FOR someone! I'll have to wait and see who I find worthy! I really can't wait to see what all the others came up with! This was a really good - and challenging list!

I hadn't heard of this except that someone was hosting one, but I didn't know who or were. But it looks like so much fun! I'll have to try to be aware next time.
That caterpillar one is such a good close-up!

Hey, at least you were able to find an actual phone booth! The best I could do was one of those pay-phone-on-the-wall deals.
Oh, and your antenna? Magnificent! And it certainly meets the criteria... probably better than mine does actually. (Nicole's a big nature/animal lover, so this is probably closer to what she was thinking.)
And honestly, I'm not sure there is such a thing as an "interesting manhole cover", but if you look closely at yours, you could have made a case for using it for the "foreign stamp". She didn't say it had to be a postage stamp after all. And if I hadn't come across the postcard form my brother, I was about one step away from using that interpretation myself.
Good catch on the decoration too. I suppose I'll lose points for the lack of "permanence" in mine, but as you noted, that one was tough!

Yeah, I agree, some of these were tough...and I never did find the foreign stamp one (SIGH) but you did an AWESOME job! The fun for me was trying to find the things...and the challenge of getting a picture. *grin* Anyways, good job!

Oh, Melli -- this is wonderful! I wish I'd had more time. I was short several things on the list still when this cold came along and whacked me. The day I meant to spend picturing I spent moaning and whining!

for some reason I had more fun with this one. possibly because I actually took my camera and hunted out most of the shots - where as last time I did the hunt in my archives.
I loved your antenna. Never even thought about that aspect of the word.

I had fun dropping by your collection! Adding Ella to the phone booth made it less boring hehe :-) but yes, phone booths in Europe are fabulous aren't they?!? As been said, that antenna photo is great. Nice close up!

This certainly looked like a lot of fun. You found terrific examples. I don't know how long it has been since I saw a telephone booth - amazing find!
Loved the Greek Festival below and I'm drooling for some Baklava....

Wow! What a wonderful collection of photos. Looks like it was fun to do. I didn't think your manhole cover was boring. Made in India makes it seem interesting to me.
