I DID hear from Krysti yesterday morning! They had been out of touch with an internet connection for DAAAAYS, and they were just getting ready to leave Geneva, Switzerland - which she HATED and couldn't WAIT to get away from - and they were heading to Munich! She LOVED Munich the last time she was there, so I'm sure she's having a much better time now! Inbetween Amsterdam and Geneva, they did Paris -- but I got no news about Paris. She was really quite grumpy about Geneva AND the internet thing... But she'll fill me in when she gets home -- next Monday! (which Dennis just reminded me is MEMORIAL Day!) YAY! I have to pick her up on MEMORIAL Day... at 3:00 something in the afternoon... at the far away airport.... LOL! It's okay! Everybody will be at bar-b-ques by THEN - right???
Mom & I went down to the semi new Washington National Harbor yesterday. I'd never been and I just wanted to nose around and see what's down there! It's quite beautiful and very up-scale! But we had a nice lunch in a Mexican place and just wandered around a LITTLE bit - I was dumb and parked at a meter instead of going into one of the parking garages -- so I felt rushed to get back to the car - and as it turned out my time HAD run out when I got there -- good grief - only 8 minutes for a quarter these days! Sheeeeeeesh! I put an hour and a half on knOwing that wouldn't be enough time - but I was out of quarters! There is still a LOT of construction going on though - and I guess will be for a few years to come yet - but it's definitely a fun place! Ella went with us...
And Jientje ... she found some extra toenails
for you to nibble on, in case yours get too low...
ya know?

Barbara H. had this on her blog yesterday ...
I found it pretty interesting...
my rainbow sure doesn't look MUCH like a rainbow!

Your rainbow is intensely shaded white, green, and yellow.

My rainbow doesn't look like a rainbow at all. It is almost solid green!
Eight minutes on the parking meter for a quarter! Gee, that's cheap. Come park in Hawaii.
And I hope Ella had a bath to wash off all that toe jam! Eeeech!

I think Zurich is so much nicer than Geneva. She will have a ball in Munich. One of my favorite places!

I wonder what Krysti didn't like about Geneva? It will be exciting to hear more!
Wow, parking is expensive! Did you get back before the meter maid ticketed you? Hope so!

Thank you for the start of this blog.
Thank you for the 2-E-cards
Thank you for the tasty birthday gift.( I think it's tasty but Betty won't let me find out)
So Kristi didn't like John Calvin's Geneva.
Glad Ella is still having adventures.
Why do people clean for the maids?

I will have to do the rainbow thingie when I finish leaving a comment.
The harbor looks pretty cool if you ask me. I bet it was a beautiful day to be there, what with the perfect weather [that I can see in the photos!].
And, if I remember after the test of my colors, I will pop over to John's for his birthday.
Yep...that's just what I figured too Melli, I won't ever have to paint those shutters again in my lifetime...unless there is damage from hurricanes. Ewwwww.
Happy day wishes to you too.
