Stuff n such....
We are now up to Jan. 5th and my tree still stands! It is coming down. TODAY. Before this day is done, the tree will be down and the rest of the decorations I'm sure will just tumble off the walls and shelves and beg to be back in boxes until the end of next November! I can't really stand them up another day! And besides... they need to be gone before the maids come this week! LOL!I let Krysti cut my hair yesterday. I just wanted the big curl at the back of my neck cut off. All the way across. So that's what she did. I love the way it feels, but I haven't decided for sure if I'm thrilled with the way it looks. I'll give it a day or two... a shower or two... and see how I feel. Then I will either take a picture and show you ... or I'll go get it fixed! I love having options!
Last night we started our Monday night Bible Study back up. We had taken a break from Mark to study A Christmas Carol before Christmas... I think we should have just stuck with Mark and finished it before Christmas ... but I'm not crazy about allegories. I love the story - and the movie(s) of A Christmas Carol... I just prefer my Christian doctrine to come at me straight forward from the Bible. But I do understand how the allegories really shine another light on it for some people. Of course, I totally get parables -- we have one gal in our study group that HATES parables! She just doesn't GET them... and that is soooooooooo sad - because Jesus spoke in parables so often! On the other hand she LOVES allegories! So, I guess we have to satisfy everyone's desires in the grand scheme of things. Anyway... we left off Mark at the end of Chapter 14. There are only 16 chapters! So we started the last chapter tonight and we will finish it next week. Then we'll have a week off and start Ezekiel the following week.
In addition to that I am starting a Weight Loss Bible Study complete with Aerobics on Thursday night. I won't say I'm excited about it... but I AM doing it! I'm not sure how much of the aerobics I'm going to be able to do with my back the way it is right now... I'm on muscle relaxers every day right now... but I'm going to do what I can. I know I have to get back to exercising and my BACK needs exercise to get strong again so I can get OFF these stupid muscle relaxers! And as soon as that TREE gets out of my family room, I can put my bike back in there and then I AM going to start pedaling again! Period. I'm just sO mad at myself for letting me gain all this weight back... sheeeeeesh... how DUMB can I be???
Oh! I finished reading Kabul 24 last week - I already told you - I thought it was great! I just want to tell you that Dennis read it this weekend! He LOVED it too! At first he thought I was tryin' to snooker him into "another Christian book" ... LOL! I don't know WHY - I always tell him up front if the book I want him to read is a Christian book. This time I told him it was a book about Christians - and that their faith helped them get through this ordeal -- but that the STORY is quite a story and that he would very much enjoy it regardless. He was kinda iffy about it until he read the cover. He was through 5 chapters before I knew it and finished the book in two days! It took ME a week! I reallllllllly recommend the book! Okay! I'm done selling Kabul 24! I'm not even doing pay per posts! LOL! Besides... it's almost 1:00 AM and I need to get to bed! I'll be around in the morning. Before or after my tree comes down!

Me too - I left two days after Christmas and just got back so my tree stands as well! I will start today but won't finish. I put each ornament back in it's original box - I know, but I do.
We want to see your hair. Come ON!
I salute you in the aerobics effort. My knees would never let me. I had a neighbor who followed a weight loss bible study and did quite well. I wish you much success.

I am fortunate in still having kids at home and having them and hubby pitch in and help with taking decorations down. That's one reason we did it Sat., before everyone scattered this week! It made me a little sad -- we had gotten them up kind of late, so I wasn't quite ready yet. It's nice to have everything back in order, though.
I so need to get into exercising whether I feel like it or not. I have the Wii Fit right here and no excuses -- just whenever I think about it I think, "Eh, later."
Is the weight loss Bible study from a particular program?
Ezekiel is a doozy!! Lots of interesting stuff there, though.

Good luck with the tree. I just slowly worked at getting my stuff down, I was thankful that we hadn't put much up, due to our cruise trip.
And good luck and blessings with your Bible Study Weight Loss. I will pray that this will help you! I know you can do it!!!

WE started on taking down Christmas today but the tree still stands.
If I didn't have a six book pile waiting to be read I might take a crack at that book.
Waiting for a picture of that hair cut.

My kids are always happy & excited to help put the Christmas decorations UP, but taking them down? No offers for help. *sigh* However, that isn't why it's always a little sad for me to take them down; I just hate to see the end of Christmas, especially when I don't truly enjoy it until around 10am on the 25th of December! (That's when I woke up this year)
Kabul 24 is on my to-read list, thanks to Quilly's review.
I am wondering... do you enjoy CS Lewis' Chronicles of Narnia? I am reading the series aloud to my 10yo and there are many things obvious to me now that weren't there for me when I was younger.
