Lovely Weekend

This is going to be brief because I'm typing last night and then heading to bed! It's been a great weekend - Sunday mostly! Saturday was just pretty quiet - caught up on blogs (which I'm now UNcaught upon again...) did some laundry, got some good exercise in... nothin' really special.

Yesterday was the best! Church in the morning -- plus a new Sunday school class! This one on being a more generous disciple. (time, gifts and talents) It drives me nuts -- last 9 weeks I didn't take a Sunday school class because they didn't have ANY I was interested in - and now this session, sure enough there was TWO classes I wanted to take and I had to choose! The other class is on the getting to know the apostles better - and it has a book and a workbook -- so I just ordered them online and I'll do it myself. But I feel like I'm missin' out on all that great discussion going on in the next room - even while I'm enjoying all the great discussion going on in the room I'm in! LOL! I WANT TO HAVE MY CAKE and EAT IT TOO!!!

Anyway, after church I came home and installed the Turbo Tax 2009 on BOTH of my computers so that Dennis can "do" the work on my laptop in the kitchen and then come in to the other one and print it! LOL! Don't ask! And THEN... I went down to Annapolis for a DATE with my Mathew!!! Yes! He was taking me out to dinner last night! It was my choice - but then in the end I left it to him... actually I guess we decided together. We went to downtown Annapolis to a little place called O'brien's Oyster Bar... and I didn't even GET oysters... which I love! No, I got a sinfully good dish - Shrimp & Scallop Diablo over fettucini. I don't even want to know how many calories was in it! I saved almost allllllllll of my calories for the day just for this meal -- I hope I didn't go over by too far! I'm fairly certain that one dish alone had more than I'm allowed all day! And we had a crab dip too! Oy! BUT... my SON does not take me out to dinner every day ... as a matter of fact - that was the FIRST time! And it was WONDERFUL! I really enjoyed our time. He and I don't often get time alone to catch up... so I enjoyed it greatly!

I also got to visit with Amanda alone for a little while before Mathew got home from the gym... and though Luz was napping while I was there at that time, I went back to the apartment after dinner, and got to visit with her until bedtime! So, it really was a grrrrrreat weekend! I hope yours was too!

Oh yea... So looooooooooong February! Helllllllllooooooooooo March!

I started reading how many points are in different restaurant meals...oh my goodness! I never realized. But...life goes on and I have to splurge once in a while, right?

Sun time and Son Time are both special. Here's to seeing the sun come out and to teeshirts and shorts. Miss you.

That does sounds like a great weekend! It's nice to spend time with each child alone sometimes.

I decided while on vacation that food didn't have calories, but surprisingly enough, I only chose one really extravagant dish and I rarely finished a meal.

How special to spend time with your family..I would splurge too if my child was paying for dinner..

We just got back from Atlanta after ten days with our girls and grands.Fred and I love all of the activities that the grands have and spending time with them...family means the most to us.

I am glad you had a great Sunday. Take care ... miss you. hugs,

Rabbit rabbit to you too. I always seem to forget about that! That dinner with Matthew sounds wonderful. I would not worry about the calories too much though, you had a good time, that's what counts.

Indeed a great weekend !
Ours wasn't nice, we had a big storm on sunday afternoon, impossible to put your nose out. The wind whistled around the house and Rosie's eyes got big and bigger. So I looked for some comfort on sunny Australian blogs and watched TV. Rather boring !

Sounds like a great weekend! I am not good about spending alone time with each child. I need to work on that.

By the way, don't you know special occasion calories don't count? ;) I wish!

I'm glad you had such a wonderful time and a great meal!
I'm so behind on reading blogs that I may never catch up. Since it's all because of helping a friend out and spending extra time during Lent in prayer, I figure it's okay.
