Ya Don't See THIS Everyday...
I don't care WHO ya are...
But that is what happened this afternoon. We have had some WEIRD stuff come along in the 23 years we've lived here. One year we had a PIG show up in our back yard. We had NO idea where it came from. Of course, we had the VULTURE on the front porch last year ... you remember ... it gave you all the creeps when I photographed it. And the cute little raccoon drinking out of the birdbath... I'm sure there's been other things that just aren't coming to mind right now... But I PROMISE you... I have NEVER been sO surprised as I was when I left this afternoon to go to the grocery store, and spotted this guy coming off the road and crossing through my neighbors field. In the bottom picture he is heading toward my house alongside our road. He ended up going down my neighbor's driveway... I'm sure she was absolutely AMAZED to see him heading for her front door! I was too busy calling Dennis to tell HIM about it so he could come see, so I didn't get anymore pictures.... but DANG! Ya know? How often does an EMU just wander into the neighborhood! And I don't think he's LOCAL! We do have a few farms in the COUNTY... but none within MANY miles of our home. I think the closest one I know is about 12-15 miles away... This was just plain WEIRD!!! LOL!

Perhaps he was an ill-conceived Christmas pet and really belongs to the neighbor whose driveway he strolled down?
Why can't this kind of stuff happen to me.

Fortunately you took pictures otherwise one could have though that you were boozed ! Like with pink elephants ! that's really amazing ! The most strange critter who ever came into our garden and looked through the window door was a cow !! I dropped my cup of coffee !

OMG we are starting Christmas all over again,
On the first day of Christmas an Emu came to me...
I would take it as a good luck sign as I do everything else. I hope he makes it home safe.
Did you know that an Emu can run 30 miles per hour?
Thanks for sharing

Wow!! That's really ODD! I can't even picture where their natural habitat would be. Is it in Maryland? Hope you are well, you and your little family have been in my heart lately. Hugs!!
