Ouch.
As I lay in bed this morning, a weeeee bit sore from yesterday's workout ... which I pushed quite a bit harder than I obviously should have... I was thinking about a certain piece of "exercise equipment" from long ago...
... I guess the concept was that it would just SHAKE the fat right off you! I dunno... what WERE they thinking? Of course, today we have Madonna's Power Plate that supposedly melts away poundage with the aid of vibration also... Okay! Well, if it didn't work in the 60's, I doubt it's any more effective today!
BUT! What brought this piece of equipment to MY mind this morning was my sore hips and butt! And I was thinking how if I had my sister's old machine I could get on it and get a nice little "massage" out of it... that would probably help a great deal! Amazingly, while looking for these pictures on line this morning, I found that the product IS still available today - in a newer version! AND that it is now promoted AS a massage belt! Same product... different purpose. Well... semi...

Ya gotta love this ad! A great way to RELAX and Exercise!? Since WHEN do the twain meet? I dunno... I've been exercising pretty regularly for the last 6 months... I've noticed NO relaxation involved. I wonder how many of these they sell? Not to worry... when I saw the price tag for them I decided that what I really want is one of ...

Size "Extra Muscle" please...

That is too funny! I have to say, I have never managed to relax and exercise at the same time. LOL

Oh the massage looks great right now. I'm still sore from weeding!
I remember my Aunt had one of the shaker machines and I got on it once, and thought my teeth would fall out.
I posted about my day here today:

Oh boy could I use a massage. You should see me after I get a massage...First place I cannot move...secondly my voice goes down several octives. I have a bass voice. It is so funny. I sound funny!! One of the ladies that used to do my massage years back for the pain that I have said that she never saw anyone that their voice changes like me...I am just weird. been trying to tell everyone that for years.
Oh and yes I remember those old machines and have used them before....

Hey, maybe this is how the "twist" got invented? Or Shake, Rattle and Roll?

Oh my goodness. I never knew such a thing existed. And I never knew about madonnas fat melter either. But I have to admit, every now and then, I just up and down, and wonder to myself if I am excerising my belly!!! Have a great day!

When I was a kid, my mom and the nextdoor neighbor went "halfsies" on a pair of inflatable, vinyl shorts that you blew up with the vacuum sweeper, and then wore around the house for x-number of minutes/hours. I guess it was supposed to make you sweat. I don't know if they ever worked, but I do remember laughing at them as they squeaked around their houses.
