Choosing A Path...

There's a song on the charts right now - by Lonestar - it's called Mountains. This has become a very favorite song of mine recently. It's a good reminder that life is not always MEANT to be easy and that sometimes God has a reason for making things tough. (or maybe He doesn't MAKE them tough... maybe He just allows them to BE tough...) At any rate... this song has become my new Mantra! Especially the chorus, which goes like this:

There are times in life when you gotta crawl,
Lose your grip, trip an' fall
When you can't lean on no-one else:
That's when you find yourself
I've been around an' I've noticed that,
Walkin's easy when the road is flat
Them danged ol' hills'll get you every time
Yeah, the good Lord gave us mountains,
So we could learn how to climb

These words are true. (as is usually the case with country music!) And if you talk to Lazy Daisy or Flip Flop Floozie, they will surely tell you that I like to CLIMB things. And I do. Usually I like to stick to statues and playground equipment. Ladders are okay... kinda boring. Mountains are a whole 'nother thing! Not that I'm not UP for the challenge ... I am! But today I'm wondering... and I'm asking God... when the mountain has twin peaks... (but with very different views from the top!) ... how do I know WHICH peak I'm supposed to conquer? I know that SOMEtimes God speaks to me through others... so others... have at it! I'm lookin' for some answers here!

A girl after my own heart...another Country fan! I like that song, too...although I have to admit that it's been a hard lesson for this bullheaded girl to learn. I tend to let the mountains ground me instead of trying to climb them.
I have no idea how to help ya. Flip a coin seems a little too obvious here ;) I'd just say pray, pray, and pray some more, and hope that He gives you a clear answer!!
Hope you have an awesome day! :)

Mornin' Melli! Ol' Anni here. Your blog...not the lyrics, reminds me of Elvis' recorded song...But this time,

Lord you gave me a mountain
A mountain you know I may never climb
It isnt just a hill any longer
You gave me a mountain this time.

Life does have shares of difficult times and more difficult decisions. Tho, I'm not Lazy Daisy OR Flip Flop Floozie---my take on the whole question of yours is the two peaks you must decide to climb and view the two different scenes.

I say, climb those mountains, view from BOTH angles and then live life as you'd see the scenes in front of you. Both may be beautiful...both may be ugly...yet one could be the pretty side of life and the other view is ugly.

In other words, a challenge, no matter the outcome is yours to conquer....

No words from anyone could help you make the right choice...it's up to you and YOUR god.

And since I'm comin' from my blog and your cute comments on my drunken daffy dills....I've taken my head out of the still long enough to get my head on straight to answer your quandry the best I know how.

:o) *hiccup*

Like jennifer, I'm not so sure I have the answers either. I'm trying to choose myself. What I'm trying to do is trust that God will show me the right path, when the time is right. Easy to say, but hard to do.

Hi Melli

Thanks for stopping by the blog, glad you like my Blog and enjoyed your visit. You are always welcome to return. Quilly is quite the lady and she has such a wonderful blog.

I've never heard the song you mention, but I am not much for Country Music (and I live here in Calgary - go figure). I will have to see if I can find the song on youtube and have a listen.

God always puts a few things in our way on our walk with him. But he is never far away and will be there if we need his help. We just got to trust in him.

Now that I found your blog, which is nicely done, I will be back.

A blessed Sunday is wished for you.

One of my favorite translations of James 1:3 (The Message) says If you don't know what you're doing pray to the Father. He loves to help. You'll get his help, and won't be condesdended to when you ask for it. Ask boldly, believingly, without a second thought. People who "worry their prayers" are like windwhipped waves. Don't thing you're going to get anything from the Master that way, adrift at sea, keeping all your options open."

Works for me....Daisy

Melli -- Philippians 4:4-7

Take it to the Lord in prayer, and he will not only lead you to the right peak, he'll help you climb it.

New Year's Eve I was very upset about a personal decision, nd I went to get my Bible to pray. I had ever intention of opening it up to Psalms, but the book flipped oput of my hands and landed spine down on the bed. It fell open.

I'd highlighted the section of the page it opened to at some earlier date. I picked up the Bible and read Philipians 4:4-7 and felt God's love and peace wrap around me. I made my decision right then and have not waivered from it since. I am still at peace.

Concerning the place where I live God must have suffered from Altzenheimer because he forgot to put mountains here ! The only way to climb here is on my stairs or on the Lion hill (258 steps). But crawling I could do without falling, under my bed to take the dust !

Ah, I forgot : Unfortunately I have to tell you that ALL Ukrainians are primates even the younger generation that had been confirmed by Russians and even one Ukrainian woman who had married a Danish guy and he had told me that he had to teach her everything (!!) It just was like in "my fair Lady"

Melli - Take the road (or in this case mountain) less traveled.

It's so hard to know which path to choose sometimes. I think we have to choose one and stick with it. I agree with Barbara, you have to choose the one that is less traveled...you have to follow YOUR dreams, your hopes, your aspirations...and be certain that He'll be with you no matter which one you choose.
