Thursday 13 ... Unbelievable U
13 Things
formerly Undisclosed about Melli
Beginning with Letter...
1. Uncoordinated -- Yes... sadly it's true. Though for years I tried to enjoy aerobics, I just never could learn to grapevine! I'm afraid I am Utterly Uncoordinated! I've got no rhythm! They always want me to clap at church and I'm like LOOK! Ya got me to SING - you DON'T want me to CLAP!!! *sigh*... I'm such a dork!
2. Underdog -- Not only was HE one of my favorite cartoon characters when I was small - but as an adult, I always tend to root for the underdog! I'm always hoping the little guy will come out on top!
3. Uneasy -- Often times I am uneasy in a large crowd. NOT of strangers. I can be in huge crowds of strangers and be just fine. I'm uneasy when I am in a large crowd of friends and acquaintances!!! (is that weird or what???) I much prefer gatherings of just a few friends at a time. I am NOT a party animal!
4. Underpaid! -- Yep! This is definitely me! I am most assuredly UNDERPAID! This might be because I am...
5. Unemployed -- Of course I am unemployed! I am staying home to do the hardest job I've EVER had! And I'm not making
6. Understanding -- I am trying to be understanding about this whole situation. I have a LOT of questions for God though...
7. Universal Studios -- I have a love/hate relationship with Universal Studios Theme Park in Florida. Once inside the gate I found this to be one of my favorite places. Some of the rides were really cool, and getting to see HOW special effects are done was really neat. But getting IN to the place was a living nightmare! A sour spot on our entire family vacation (and mind you this was 6 or 8 years ago!) that we will never forget!!!
8. Ultraviolet Light -- I love it! Some people slather on many many SPFs to avoid being exposed to this stuff --- but I admit I am a sun worshiper! (well not literally... I think we all know where I stand worship-wise!) But I do love to be out in the sun and get a tan! I do also prefer the natural UV light from the sun as opposed to laying in a casket like device surrounded by fluorescent tubes!
9. Union -- For 9 years I was a UNION Sheet Metal Worker. My husband is still a UNION Sheet Metal Worker. Despite this fact, I am a decidedly non-union person. I do believe that once upon a time, unions were developed to make life better for the workers ... and ... we may actually be coming INTO such a time again now. But there are also times when the Union rules and regulations hold their members back from making advancements that can be made in the non-union world! I have honestly never noticed the benefits being GREATER in the Union than they are outside of it.
10. Unicef -- When I was a kid I used to always go Trick or Treat for Unicef. I loved carrying that little orange box with me and collecting the coins that people would put in it. It was a lot more fun than just writing out that check and sending it on it's way. I'm sure my check is more helpful... but I miss those little boxes. Do kids DO that anymore? (we don't even get trick or treaters for CANDY - much less for Unicef!)
11. Upsidedown -- hehehe... I really DO love to be upsidedown! For years I had horrible back problems and saw a chiropractor regularly. I used to wish desperately for one of those machines that you could get on and flip upsidedown. I was just sure if I could reverse gravity that would help tremendously! I'm still convinced that pulling the spine in the other direction occasionally could ONLY cause good things! Aside from that -- I also love Pineapple Upsidedown Cake!
12. Uncork -- Yea... you know... not often... but just occasionally... it's nice to sit back in the evening and uncork a bottle of wine. Or a bottle of champagne. Yea... *POP!*
13. USA!!! -- Yes indeedy! I AM a USAian! And I'm darned PROUD of it too!!! I'm not blind. I know we have some issues. But I'm positive that with God's help we'll get them cleared up! She's a GRAND old flag!

Yep, Underdog was the best. The Tour Manager and I both root for underdogs now, as adults, too. Maybe because we both were.

I Understand about the crowd of strangers and friends, I think it's more wearing because you do know them and it feels like more is expected of you, or at least more attention is being paid, rather than being able to be an anonymous face in a crowd of strangers.
Mmmm... Pineapple Upside down cake! Yummy!
Great list Melli!

I am thinking the next few letters of the alphabet are going to get interesting! :-)
I loved Underdog, too. I have always been very, very uncoordinated.
I don't like being upside down, though. And with skin cancer in my family I try to avoid being out in the sun much (that and I sweat half to death when I get hot!!)

I was in Universal Studio 20 years ago, lol in 88. I found it great ! Talk about Union ! Yesterday was a mess in Brussels ! 300 tractors, I don't know how many trucks and taxis all in the center to protest against the increasing high fuel prices !! The whole town was paralized. Mr. Gattino had forgotten that the farmers would come through Waterloo to go to Brussels, got stuck in there and it took him 45 min for 1 mile ! I can understand them, we pay now 1.50 €(more than 2 $)for a LITER !!

Melli -- OC says you are the wrong gender to qualify as a dork because a dork is a whale's penis.
"It's a bird!"
"It's a plane!"
"It's a frog!"
"No, no bird, no plane, no frog. It's just little ol' me, Underdog!"

An interesting thirteen things.
I am also uncoordinated, cheer for the underdog, uneasy in crowds, don't love unions, and used to send kids out from the Church for UNICEF.
But for the others your on your own.

I am glad that I stopped by,liked the concept of the 13 by one letter. Universal Studios is an interesting place to get into, looooong lines everywhere. But my kids enjoyed it.
Liked #12 also. Thank you for stopping by.
