A Lazy Day...

Tis a rainy, rainy day... it is.

It's one of those days where if I didn't have Mom, I would just go on back to bed with a book. Reckon I'll have to do the book without the bed this time. I'm finally getting around to reading Same Kind of Different As Me. Everyone has told me I would love it - and I am enjoying it!

It's just supposed to rain and pour all day long today. We've had a good bit of rain lately - but it's all been at night. Night before last the thunder woke me up EVEN with my ear plugs in! It shook the house and SHOOK me awake! Then I heard it! I'd have loved to take my ear plugs out and listen to it - but Dennis was still snoring... *sigh* Hard to hear a good storm with all THAT racket goin' on right beside ya! I just went on back to sleep...

I got a letter from my little Guatamalan Lesli yesterday. Of course, she doesn't write yet - her big sister writes for her and puts many words in her mouth! But Lesli drew me two pictures of beauuuuutiful flowers! What a sweety! That's something else I will do today - write her back! I don't want to grow her up too quickly - but I can't WAIT until she is big enough to write her own letters to me!

Tomorrow I get Luz for an overnight. We've got big plans for Sunday! But maybe tomorrow we will color something for Lesli too!

Good, happy rainy Friday Melli [wish it would rain here].

Oh boy....bet you can't wait for the overnight jammie party with Luz!!!

And you're teasing us, right? You're saving your plans for Sunday to post on your blog?!!!!

I love rainy days and thunder storms, especially with a good book.

Show us the drawings.

I hope you and Luz have a great time! I look forward to having Zoe for a sleep over when Warren is better!

It's been raining here since yesterday afternoon. My husband was hoping to paint tomorrow, but we'll have to see. It has indeed felt like a good day to curl up with a book...unfortunately other tasks with deadlines await.

Have a good time with Luz!

Wow...we must live closer than I thought!! That was the same night we had STORMS with a great amount of lightning and thunder. I woke and thought about checking the radar, but decided it was ok.

I'd love to have another rainy day when you can see and all.

Do Rainy Days and Thursdays/Fridays get you down? LOL. great post my friend. I can just imagine the two of you coloring...Lesli is going to be one lucky girl. LOL...on Dennis too funny. Even with the rainy days...you bring out the sunshine in all of us :)

I just read Thom's comment. He's a charmer, isn't he?

I love rainy days and thunderstorms, and like you I think they are perfect for fuzzy blankets and good books. When I was young my family members would all grab pillows and blankets and curl up around the living room near the fireplace. Pretty much the only sounds you'd hear was pops from the fire, sipping cocoa slurps, and turning pages.

Love a good thunderstorm with lightening. It lights up the heavens and its like it speaks to you, airing out all the worlds problems it is discontented with. And then it quietens down as if it tired of screaming at every one having made its point. lol
The only time I don't like it is when you have to fly.
I don't understand why a plane can't fly over it and the turbulence.
Pretty scary.

A rainy day and a good book , what more could one want?
Plus the promise of great things tomorrow,
What's a little house shaking thunder ?

I love Quilly's description of a rainy day, it made me smile. Have fun with Luz on Sunday! I'll be a busy girl the next two days, don't be alarmed if I'm not around much, it's my nieces holy communion,(how do YOU call that?) and I have to be there, WITH MY CAMERA OF COURSE!! See you!

Ahhhh rain. Nice. :) After several hot days here (about 90) we cooled off last night and had a little wind storm. I dont like the wind, it unsettles me. I'd rather it was rain. We got a few drops and that was it. You'd think different of Seattle, wouldn't you?

About the quilting: I've done a couple in the last couple years, but really don't have time for much quilting since I went back to work 3 years ago. I do have plans for some though - just need the time.

That's the weather we had ALL this week. Finally today we have a little bit of sun.
Have a great evening with Luz!

I read that book recently, it is very good. Have you read The Shack? It is an interesting read too! A very different take on our relationship with God.

I have the blues, it doesn't rain but it's cold and grey and the heating on ! A snoring man is very romantic, that's why I moved into another room to keep my illusions, otherwise I might have ended up in jail as a husband killer. Don't you have a spare hole where you can sleep peacefully during nights ? I read somewhere that sharing the same bed has nothing to do with love, but was a necessity because the whole family slept in one room. Only the rich people could have seperate bedrooms ! See ...
