How does she know he is grumpy? She is projecting her thoughts onto him. Maybe he is looking for his pet or wife or kid or something. Unless the "he gave me mOre than I bargained for!"
Was a rude gesture or something like that...or maybe he did not want his picture made.

Sometimes strangers (always in the US) ask me why I'm grumpy. I never have any idea what they're talking about.
