    It's Come to This...

    The HIGHLIGHT of my week is my new coffee mug! LOL! Isn't it pretty? I don't know if they meant it to look like wine glasses... but that's what the design reminds ME of. I like wine... but I rarely drink it... I can't see wasting the amount of calories that are IN it ON it! So, a coffee mug with a wine glass design pleases me! And I love the color and way it feels in my hand. So all things considered, it's a fairly perfect mug. For me.

    It has been BEASTLY hot here... for nearly an eternity now. Okay - maybe NOT an eternity - but I really can't remember the last beautiful day we had! I mean, they all LOOOOK beautiful... as long as you stay behind the window! But step out the door and it's a SAUNA out there! I can't take MOM out into this stuff... and I really have no desire to take mySELF out there either! I did take Luz to the pool on Saturday... She had fun, but the water was like stepping into a very WARM bathtub! It was not refreshing at all. It only JUST made being out in the heat tolerable. Kids don't notice that as much as adults do. But the pool was not crowded and that tells ME that the "regulars" have had enough.

    So now, having said that I CAN'T take Mom out in it... I must. She has a doctor's appointment today. The one in which I am going to be recommended to take her to a cardiologist... which is going to start a whole new brand of FUN! Gotta run! I'll visit later in the day!

    I guess you'll believe that I've even been avoiding taking SnakeMaster to the pool! After all, he just spent a week at the beach!

    You & I just need to remember what it was like with 3 feet of snow on the ground...

    If only my dad could remember things. He told my sister that he went to the ER 3 times last week. In truth, he didn't go at all. *sigh*

    cool mug, it's the kind of thing that would be the highlight of my week too - coffee is too important not to take seriously, and that includes the vessel :-)

    I had to take my MIL out to the doctor last week for a physical before going to her new place and then again two days later for her TB test to be checked, and she who almost always wears a sweater took it off and commented about the heat. She has another appointment next week to check on her hearing aid, then I have one to get my meds refilled that they don't like to refill without checking you out. I hadn't anticipated all these dr. visits before moving!

    I'll be praying for Mom that the Lord will provide for her heart. Hope this heat breaks soon. We're cooking up here in New Hampshire as well.

    Hi Melli, I know how you feel in this heat..it has been 100 with the heat index up to 113 and 117 for the last few days..my AC and ceiling fans are getting a workout..my last electric bill was 260.00 and will be even higher next month.

    I don't like to swim in the pool when the water is so hot..it feels like someone has pee...ed in the pool.

    I can't believe that you and Kathy are going to become new grandmas one month apart..what a fun time for all..wish I could be there for the excitment..

    Well, I am off to bed early, I have two crowns to be done on my teeth in the morning.Valium comes on board one hour before my appointment.Fred will drive me ...

    It seems as if Luz can swim like a fish, lol ! The weather has changed here now we are in the low in the 70 F again since last week, that's a little cool and it is also cloudy and there are little showers. I wish my summer heat back ! Ilona and I have bought special beach beds and we want to try them out ! unfortunately at the sea it's even more cold !

    I saw the wine glasses before I read your post, lol. Lovely mug, Melli. I haven't had a glass of wine lately because a) calories! and b) it's been too hot for alcoholic beverages!!

    I went wading in the ocean today. It is about 77 degrees. That is too warm in this muggy heat, but the sand felt good between my toes.
