I'm NOT Dead.

I promise.
I'm here.
I'm breathing.
Life is good.

Tyler continues to grow...

A happy little man he is.

He's about this big now.

Luz is growing too...

She had her first pedicure last week!
(yes... at 6 years old... I'm nuts... )

Lots of OTHER stuff has happened this month... Hector had his shoulder replacement surgery. It went VERY well and he is healing much faster than they expected. Of course... he is much YOUNGER than most shoulder replacement patients and that probably has something to do with it! And he is very strong and determined... so he actually DOES his exercises. All good!

I was diagnosed with high blood pressure. It's fine now... I've changed my entire diet once again and have lowered my sodium intake to less than 1700 mg daily. I'm exercising more and it's coming down nicely. So is my weight. All good!

Dennis, we have found has high numbers too - but he hasn't seen a doctor. Yet. However, his diet is changing because mine has. I'm not sure that's enough. He smokes and drinks... he may need medication. We'll see.

Mom continues to decline. Slowly. We actually had one day where we're not CERTAIN - but we think she simply FORGOT how to walk for several hours. Coulda been a pinched nerve or something... but we think she just forgot. Oh... and the other night Dennis went to bring her from the family room to the kitchen for dinner and found her with her socks on the OUTSIDE of her shoes. That's determination, I'll tell ya!

Soooo.... you can see... life is just pretty much the same. I just happen to have a HORRIBLE case of Blogger Burnout. I'm sorry. There simply is no other excuse. I just don't FEEL like sitting in my computer chair for hours and hours and hours on end anymore. It's not that I don't miss you... I do... But at this time I would LOVE to come see you in person - if that were an option. It's not. I'm sure I'll be back eventually. But right now? *shrug* I'm not dead.

OH! For my Christian friends... I'm reading a book -- One Thousand Gifts... Very good! See ya!

I've missed you, Melli! Glad to have an update, even if you do have blogger burnout (and I totally understand). (My husband wishes I had blogger burnout....)
I hope you can get your hubby to see a doctor, listen to advice, and make necessary changes.

The kids look great and I'm thrilled to see you are nearly halfway there with your ticker! Wow!! :) You inspire me. ♥
Hugs and hopes to see you again before the end of the school year!

Melli -- I spent all day yesterday thinking about you! I had plans to find time to write you a letter today. I have seriously cut back on my blogging, too. I have a life now -- and friends I can actually talk to and go out and do things with! Plus, I am taking water aerobics classes. I love them!

Ack! I was saving the best for last and closed the comment box rather than starting a new paragraph!

Tyler is such a cutie! I love that smile. If I had access to him I probably wouldn't want to blog anymore, either!

So good to see you pop up here and in my comments again! You've been sorely missed.

What a cute little man there! I can imagine how much fun he has been. And Luz is as adorable as ever. Can you believe I have never had a pedi in my life? I have this thing about people messing with my feet. Plus I saw a 20/20 piece about some of the tubs that weren't cleaned out well and caused infections. That show ruined a lot for me until I stopped watching.

My husband just got a physical and all his numbers are high except sugar. My only high was cholesterol -- odd since we don't eat many fried foods or red meat -- except when we go out. Congrats on the continued weight loss! It's about time for a picture update! :-)

I am so sorry to hear about Mom's decline...and sorrier still that the decline will continue. Another blog friend's husband was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimers -- at 48. I just can't imagine.

We're doing ok -- still adjusting to a new place. Can't remember if we have communicated since Jason and Mittu came up -- she has a job, though not full-time, and he has been looking for months, but still nothing. His migraines have decreased to one abut every other week, so they're better, but still around.

I have heard so many people raving about that book. I have it on my wish list at Amazon but have a stack to get to before I order any more.

I understand about real life being full, but selfishly I hope you'll be inspired to blog every now and then. :-)

All the best,
Barbara

Hi Milli, I see you've been going through life too!
The little one is so cute. Take care.

Dear Melli, I have missed you so much! I am so happy you wrote both here and stopped by to say hello!
You grand-babies, both of them are beautiful!
Sorry to hear about Mom, will keep her in my prayers.
Love to you and Dennis!

Although I am still hanging around with all my friends, blogging still keeps me up and let me forget the grey world around me. I travel .. ! and writing is a necessity for me. I ordered my first Blog book (I started with my cat blog)and am curious to see how it comes out. Maybe when Toby is grown up he wants to know a little more about his grandma. Next I will have Writer's Cramps printed.
Tyler at least smiles, Toby stops when he sees the camera, lol !
As you live so close, you have much more contact than I have with Toby. That will come later.
Chantal's husband lays now in bed has a bag to collect what has to be collected, a male nurse comes twice a day to wash him and Chantal has to feed him, he can't eat alone anymore. It's just terrible to be a dead alive.

I am glad to hear you are still among the living. It's always good to hear of the great things that God has going on in your life. Keep us updated when you can. Can you believe we got snow in San Antonio this week? Weird weather!

Congrats on your weight loss! You are doing so well - I'm proud of you.

Hope Dennis will make lifestyle changes, too. You surely are an inspiration to him!

Tyler is a cutie, and if I had grandkids, I'd blog less too.

I would love to read 1000 Gifts, too. I love reading her blog!

Aunti M, so happy to see an update. :) I didn't think you were dead - figured you were just busy busy busy! Blogging burnout is common, so don't apologize!

So happy to see pics of lil' man! He's so precious!

Glad to hear you're well and doing healthy stuff too! No, to get Dennis off those smokes - ugh!

Love you!

Thanks Milli, for coming on board and letting us all know you are still breathing. Yes, the grandkids grow when you blink your eyes. Luz is looking all grown up in that big chair having her first pedicure. The little man is so cute, even asleep he looks smiling away. Sorry to hear of mom's set back. I'm glad she didn't decide to walk with those slippery shoes on.
Good job on the weight loss and salt loss, yes.
Hope to see you in and around every once in awhile. I'm totally with you and being consumed by the computer these days. I just can't find time to do everything I want to do, so something will have to give. At first I thought it was Winter blahs. Take care, we care,
cindy

Glad to hear you are delirious with joy over your "new" life. Enjoy it and, like everything else, moderation sweetheart. Hope to see you again sometime soon.

The new little one is so adorable, and we got a belated Christmas card from my husband's cousin. They now have triplets. Talk about CUTE! They are so adorable I keep it on the side of the fridge so I can see it. It brings a smile everytime I see it.

Melli, Tyler is so precious!! I know you must be over the moon!!! I love it that you took Luz for a pedicure! I can't wait to do the same thing with Zoe.
Just so you know....I am leaving the blogging world. I just have gotten so infrequent in posting that it seems there is no point. I will be visiting blogs however....so you are not rid of me yet!!!!

By Blogger Jane, at 2/12/2011 12:43 PM

Love the baby pics!! Luz is growing up to become a beautiful young one!! I was away for almost 4 weeks to visit my family...dad isn't doing well and it breaks my heart to see him age...it's the circle of life...
Stay well, my friend, I am not doing well blogging-wise either, but coffee is always ready for you. :)

He's gorgeous, Melli! I hear you about Blogger Burnout. After a friend at school had her best posts put into a book, though I've decided to press on when I want to! I also decided to take a "Daybook format" to mine and that's helping A LOT for right now. Anyway, I'm praying for you and think about you often, especially since my Mom is beginning her journey down the Alzheimer's/Dimentia lane. You're an inspiration to me for sure. Sending MUCH LOVE your way!!

:-) Susan
