Painting Pottery 2....

Awhile back I showed y'all a pasta plate I had painted, and several of you asked to see other things I've done. I've been snapping pictures as I think of it... and I was going to do a post with a whoooooole kaboodle of stuff I've painted -- but then I remembered that NOVEMBER is coming... and I might NEED something to talk about one day! So I decided to share a couple of things today... and then a few more next month! LOL! (what a CHEAT I am!!!)

Below, (i hope) you will see a wine cooler I did. This did not come out looking ANYTHING like what I anticipated... but I was very pleased with it all the same! Although I still think my grape leaves leave MUCH to be desired! (as you can see, all wine served at MY house is only the finest from the house of Insanity Prevails!)

Then, above, (i hope) (you never know for sure with blogger, do you?) is a little handbag that I sponged. (the red and black one!) When I looked at this piece in all it's whiteness I really had no idea what to do with it -- and I wasn't even really "in the mood" to be painting. (thus the sponging) But Krysti wanted me there, and so I was... and I really do like the way it came out... I actually have two more handbags yet to paint - but they are larger. One is a coin bank and the other a vase. It could be years before they get done though!

Okay... that's it for today! More later!

I think I know that 'other person' on the purse!

*giggles*

I look forward to more in November.

Happy Thursday Melli...I was posting another entry to my blog and clicked to view it, and then noticed you had finally got Blogger to open for you and view my new picture frames from yesterday. Thanks, glad you like 'em. With your creative talents, it pleases me to know that. Really.

Very cool Melli, I am impressed. I am learning to crochet with a DVD, I hope to be able to post a picture of something I have created someday soon!

Oh I love ceramics! I used to do it all the time. Unfortunately, I don't have my things anymore except the plates that my daughter kept for me in Hawaii. I made lamps, bowls, plates, cups, planters and much more. My favorite ones were the hawaiian heads of ladies with hibiscus in their hair. And I got so pissed cause the airlines that I shipped it with, lost it and we couldn't track it down. I had 4 of them. Maybe one day I'll get to make one again when I go back to Hawaii. :)

I love that bag you made. Have you used sea sponge to work with? They really have a great effect to them.

I didn't know insanity could lead to creativity, lol!
Wonderful, Melli, I love your creations! your house wine looks a lot more inviting than my plain cup of coffee :)
