    Tuesday Tunes... and Dierks!

    Tuesday Tunes
    Hosted over at The Music Memoirs

    Another word association week. Remember name the first song/artist/album etc that you think of when you see these 10 words.

    Country: Toby Keith
    Patriotic: You're A Grand Old Flag
    Summer: Jimmy Buffet
    Heat: Sittin' On The Dock Of The Bay - Otis Redding
    (not sure how my brain was workin' on this one... )
    Fun: Undignified ... Matt Redman (it's a praise tune)
    Beach: Beach Baby - First Class
    Surf: Surfin' USA - Beach Boys
    Park: Saturday In The Park - Chicago
    Live: Next Thing On My List - Toby Keith
    (oh... I read this as live -like living room - not LIVE! as in IN CONCERT)
    South: Polly Wolly Doodle! LOL!
    (been listening to too many Toddler Tunes lately, I think!)

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Dierks
    Sooooo... Saturday night Krysti and I went to the Dierks Bentley concert! This was one that I had purchased THREE tickets - because she wanted to take her BFF for her birthday! I was gonna tag along and stay outta the way. But then she assumed that the 3rd ticket meant she could ask another friend too - and so she did! That was fine... I gave up my seat. But THEN... it turned out that neither the BFF nor the other friend were actually able to attend and so Krys and I had 3 seats! LOL! (actually kinda nice, because this venue packs you in like sardines... but that extra space was a bit costly!) So anyway... I GOT TO GO! And I enjoyed him immensely! As did Miss Krys! I took 88 pictures! Out of them, the first 30 were trying to figure out which settings to use on my camera to get a halfway decent shot! They don't make it easy! CONSTANT changing lights, smoke screens, and movement just make for a nightmarish task of photography! Especially when you are NOT a professional, and you are using a simple little Kodak Z710! BUT... the world of DIGITAL has made us ALL professionals to one level or another and so out of 88 photo's I managed to get
    ONE that was crystal clear and perfect...
    even UNcropped and in poster size!
    And I got a couple of others that were fairly clear -
    especially when softened a bit and then downsized.
    Dierks and his boys doin' a little bluegrass!
    I thought this was kinda nice of the whole stage.
    (thought about saving it in case Anna chooses "red"... LOL!)
    (oh well!)
    Music-wise, he pleased me early on! The one song I would have been disappointed NOT to hear was Every Mile A Memory -- I think it was the 3rd or 4th song he did! So with that out of the way, I just settled back to enjoy the rest. He introduced one new song that's not been released yet - it's what he described as a "love song that turned into a prayer"... and it's wOnderful! If you are a Dierks fan, or a country fan keep an ear out - it will be coming soon! And we SHOULD have been able to guess but we just weren't thinking... his final song of the night was Free and Easy (Down The Road I Go) ... and then of course, the crowd goes CRAZY because he has not yet done the one everyone's been waiting for. And so.... in the encore... he comes back and does... What Was I Thinkin'?! It was a cute finish! The crowd exited peacefully and happily!
    Love the Tuesday tunes Melli - I need to check out that it seems like so much fun! Brings back memories.
    The concert sounded enjoyable and your pictures look like your seats were fairly close - were they?
    Have a great day.
    Carletta ... We were about 26 rows back -- but this venue only has about 60 rows. It is verrrrry small! This is a little hole-in-wall venue in my little hole-in-wall hick town! For SOME reason we have been able to get some BIG country names to come down here... and some really BIG has- beens! I don't really have any interest in going to ANY other venue after having been to concerts here!
    LOL about trying out all those settings for a decent picture!! you did wonderfully and I am glad to hear you had fun at that concert.
    Happy Tuesday to you.
    Were you fumbling with your camera or watching the show? I'm glad it was a concert and not a play! (I'm also glad you had a great time.)
    Polly Wolly Doodle! I LOVE it! Great list for the Tuesday Tunes Melli. I also thought of the Beach Boys and I love Toby Keith.
    I LOVE your list! LOL! I'm especially glad you included Sitting On The Dock of The Bay! No matter what your inspiration was...it's great to see Otis Redding on your list! :)
    I don't think I can remember enough tunes to do that meme.
    Glad you got to the concert.
    That was indeed a great picture but the other two were special as well.
    Your pictures came out very nice ! It is always very difficult to take photos during a show. I don't know this guy but also enjoy concerts !!
    Forgot : Don't you participate on the new game : "From the Ground up" ? It's also fun. Most of the Quilly's members do it too. I started today and published n°1 - 4 because I missed the first days.
    I love your Tuesday Tunes picks, especially Beach Baby! Man, that's an oldie but goodie and a lost classic!
