Maryland Crabs... Photo Hunt... Wordzzle... and stuff...
You may not know it, but Maryland's logo is... Maryland Is For Crabs. You know... the whole Chesapeake Bay thing, and the Maryland Blue Crabs... I've always thought it was a stupid logo - but the fact is, it is ours! What are ya gonna do?Well, for ONE, you eat a LOT of crabs when you live in Maryland! I LOVE crabs! Most folks who were born here I believe grow up LOVING crabs. But maybe not this kind so much...
And this is Darwin!Aren't they CUTE?
After Luz got her little crabbies, I enjoyed watching them so much that I decided I wanted some of my own again! So the next day I went and bought Einstein & Darwin. And Amanda bought Luz a 3rd one too because she had a mommy one, and a baby gee-al one, and they obviously needed a daddy! Anyway ... I hated Einstein's shell -- I only bought him because he was the friskiest crab in the pen! I bought some other shells and tossed them in his little wire container and prayed he would find a new home! I won't go into the housing issues that we had over these critters... but suffice it to say that for the money spent they should probably own sea side condo's on the boardwalk! Anyway... when Amanda & Luz left, they took their trio home with them and I got to know my boyz a bit! The very next day, guess what Einstein did?
By the end of the week I was having sO much fun watching them that when Amanda came back on Saturday I told her we needed to go crab shopping again! She said she wanted to get more too! This time I came home with...
And Dumbo - who we keep thinking is dead but he isn't!
( i think he may be molting or getting ready to molt...
the infamous "they" say that crabbies get very lethargic
during their molting time...)
He is NOT an intelligent one and may have a little
dain bramage... I'm not sure!
And then there was the Prodigal Son...
he ran away in the beach house
and didn't come back... oops!

So, for a brief time I was up to SIX crabbies!!! Their favorite thing was the deck chairs - which Born Again Einstein is playing on. Because the chairs are webby the crabs could climb all OVER them and would... for looooooong periods of time! After buying more crabs, a trip to Sea Shell City was in order! I had already been there and put a down payment on the first crab condo! But Amanda wanted to go see what she could find to create the perfect crab village for her crew! Sea Shell City is THE place to go when you are in need of shells and other hermit crab paraphenalia! She did her part for the betterment of crab villages! Again, she and Luz left - this time only having bought ONE more crab - such will power my daughter has! My poor little critters had to stay cooped up in their teeny little wire cage most of the time... but the Hernandez crabs were going home to MAJOR digs! Take a look!

LOL! MY crabs are going HERE for vacation!
(it's biggable!)
(it's biggable!)
I want my crabs to have a 20 gallon aquarium - but WowMart only had 10 gallon ones! We already had a 10 gallon one at home, so mine are in IT temporarily until I get a 20. And for the moment they seem to be happy and fairly active. We'll SEE how long that lasts! What I do know is this...
Kitty is LOVING the VIEW from up there!!!
And THAT is my Saturday Photo Hunt!

The Wordzzle Challenge is hosted each week by RavenI really wanted to do a large Wordzzle this week... but it's just been too busy! All I ever got around to was the mini challenge. The five words were: crocodile, special, sleep, droll, turn around
And my entry...
Satisfied and full, the lazy crocodile did one turn around, snuggled into his special comfy position, and with a droll grin drifted off to sleep.
Short, but sweet! NEXT week I'll play big!

It took me several hours yesterday -- but I was finally able to get ahold of the service department for the condo and get Mom's medicine located and overnighted. It wasn't anyone's fault -- the storm had knocked down some of their phone lines. I'd get ahold of one part of the company - but it was 47 blocks away from the other part and they couldn't forward me over because the lines were down! But we finally got it worked out. They should be here today and all will be fine!
Now... I really really wonder if God is thinking I am WAYYYYYY to addicted to blogging! I was reading Psalm 51 yesterday -- it's one of my favorites and I read it all the time ... but THIS time I read it and it LOOKED like this... (to me)
Have mercy on me, O God,
according to your unfailing love;
according to your great compassion
BLOG out my transgressions.
??? Huh? *double take* ??? Oh NO! I did NOT just read that like that!!! ROFL! I hope God doesn't have a Blog! I would really hate it if He were blogging all my transgressions! I really DO hope He's BLOTTING them out instead!!!

Wow- you guys really take your crabs seriously! We've had hermit crabs a couple of times but never knew you could get all those cool shells and stuff for them. I really enjoyed reading about yours and I love that picture of the cat on the aquarium.

Maybe God has LOTS of blogs. I kind of like that idea. I never heard of crabs as pets before. Must be fascinating. And how fun to buy them new decor shells to live in. Upward mobility for crabs. Cool.
Your wordzzle is perfect. I noticed that Ella wasn't around. I hope she's feeling well.

How beautiful are those shells? Actually I've never eaten fresh crab but I'd love to try it.
Great job on the mini wordzzle - short but very sweet! :)

Came by for your Wordzzle. Short and sweet, but still very good.
If God had a blog...now that conjures up all sorts of ideas. That was funny.

I love 'Born Again Einstein' and his Shell of Many Colors!
what a fun and unique hobby. your cat looks a lot like my old guy JR looked, he was big and gray and loved to lounge and watch.
your mini was very clever!

I love your crabs. ( Can you love a crab?) Glad you are getting the medicine.
I think your word wezzle is the best I've read. I like them short.

My daughter always bought a hermit crab everytime she went to the beach.
Love the new shells you picked out for yours.
Your Wordzzle was nice and concise.
No, I didn't play. I had a short one and when I went to type I realized I had read droll - drool. I've had a migraine for days and didn't have the heart to try and fix it - I'll be back next week.

I love Hermit Crabs, I used to have a few myself. You visited my blog and I wanted to let you know that the "Lands End" where I took that pictures, is not the same "Lands End" you buy clothes at. They are located in Dodgeville,Wisconsin. Thanks for stopping by :)

Oh good Lord, CRABS??? Maybe that's what I should let DS 4 get now that his fish died! He's the animal lover in my house...but wow, Amanda has really gone all out for her crabs has she not? I have never seen the cute little painted shells on them. That's so fun!
I bought one of my favorite hats in Baltimore..it's a red crab hat. I use it at school for various stuff...I'm sure you've seen 'em.
Hugs,
Susan
