My New Favorite Animal...

Yep... the gazelle! What can I say? Ever since Tyfany left her gazelle with me, I've been using it! And LOVING it! Let me tell you something. I have really REALLY bad feet ... and bad knees... and bad hips, shoulders ... what the heck - JOINTS! I have arthritis in almost all of them -- and additional complications in my feet and knees. But this little piece of exercise equipment is sooooo awesome! It let's me WALK - which I can't even do on the street or a treadmill -- but not only that - it let's me RUN!!!! Now mind you, stamina is a problem. So far I am only up to 16 minutes at a shot on the gazelle -- but that is 16 more minutes than I have spent at a very brisk walk in a long loooooong time! And I actually RUN for 5 of those minutes! AND I have "played" on the gazelle 3 times yesterday and twice so far today! You can NOT imagine how this feels to me! I have wanted to be able to run for sO long! Just to be ABLE to do it! And on this piece of equipment, I can! I can't say enough good things about this... it is just awesome! I can't wait until it makes me look like HER! LOL!

This is interesting. What I have is just a stepper but this one gives you a lot more areas moving.

Am glad you are getting a lot of benefit from it. Keep it up!

Go for it girl!! i have wondered if those things worked. If it makes you feel good then it is a good thing. Also if it is fun then you will do it. That is what I think about Curves...if I do it then it is a good thing..what good is something that you will not do? Keep up the good work.....

Totally awesome! I say, do it cuz it feels good! (Or Okay at least, right?) So, enjoy! Will Tyfany let you borrow it for a while??

Good for you... Something that makes you feel good, and is good for you, besides being fun, is a definite keep... Hope you can enjoy it for some time to come...

I told you..........I told you!!!!! I know I love mine. On the really humid days or rainy days, I still get my walking in. And someday Melli, try the sideways stance (it takes some balance and coordination, but ohhhhhhhh does it ever work the inner thighs!!---and you can't do that just walking)

Glad you like it.

Wystful - I'll try that!

Jae - Yep! She's leaving it at our house!

Striking resemblance! Looks like I would have to have the paramedics nearby as I find it difficult these days to walk and talk at the same time!

Hi! I'm new to your blog ~ found you thru the photo contest, so I've been perusing thru a lot of your stuff. I think you're my new hero! :) Congrats on the weight loss.

I have never heard of a gazelle and actually from the picture can't quite figure out how it works. May I ask where it was purchased? I have arthritis in my left knee and have trouble bending it; so are you able to do whatever this machine requires w/o pain? I might be interested!

I've thought about Curves, too, but figured that the music would grate on me rather than enhance my experience. Any thoughts on that? Have you found there are any times when more relaxing music might be played instead of always listening to the modern stuff? (To be honest, I don't know what they play but figure it would be something with a beat to keep you going on the equipment.)

Anyway, it's good to "meet" you, Melli. I'll look forward to checking back in and seeing how you're doing. I have a ways to go, too, and between you and Barbara over at MommyLife I just may start dieting any day now! ;)
