Saturday Photo Scavenger Hunt...

Today's Theme: Thankful

Of all things to come into my life within the past couple of years...
the absolute number 1
thing that I am thankful for HAS to be my wee
GRANDDAUGHTER!

Luz Estrella
The Light of my life...

My shining STAR!

I was blessed to spend time with she and my
daughter, Amanda, just yesterday.
After a nice lunch out on a WARM but cloudy
February day... we spent a little bit of
time trying to enjoy the great outdoors!

I guess sOMe folks might say it was a
Poopy Day! Amanda & Luz were trying
to dodge it - but it was hopeless!

One of the culprits!

For some reason it was only on that ONE deck though...
the others were fairly untouched! Very strange...

After tossing some stones into the water
Luz got a little quiet and was reflective
for a few moments...

Suddenly she wished that her stones would
pop up again. I'm not sure why. There were
plenty more. I told Amanda we were going to
have to bring styrofoam stones the next time!

Luz & I dropped Mama off at home after this and she and I went and spent the rest of the afternoon wandering in and out of little shops, looking at boats, FINDING alphabet letters -- Luz is pretty good at it! And playing obstacle courses. Luz is recovering from a week of flu though so she didn't have much energy for those courses. If I said "jump" or "hop" she said "no, Nana... I don't feel like jumping"... and so it was. We had calm obstacle courses today!

Amanda reminded me today that Luz is now 4 and ONE HALF years old... and my heart is breaking! She is growing up SO fast! I just want her to stay little ... a long time!

Looks like you all had a wonderful time. Luz is a little doll and you are right, they grow up WAY too fast. Our Zoe will be 18 months old in about a week! Where has the time gone? I have some pics of her on my blog...with a cell phone!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by when I am in such a down time. Mike does not have any work till maybe Wednesday..we are not sure yet. Things are very very tight. we did have a couple stop and look at our home last night...so we wait!!

A beautiful kid, one even may want to reconsider his cool attitude to grandparentship ;-)

Have a great weekend.

Checking in early today because the grandkids are here and I might not get back to the computer today.
I loved your choice for thankful.
The pictures are very nice.
You really don't want her to remain at that age. That would be a horrible thing.
The real fun is in watching the growth, the change, and life lessons learned.

They joy you have in Luz at this age will never end, because it is in your heart (and your blog!). Just think of all the joys to come as she learns and grows.

Sounds and looks like a super day!
She is growing fast. I probably shouldn't mention it will soon be time for school. :(
Just remember if we love them we give them wings and I think she's going to fly!

In a very neat way, she's also a blessing to the blogging world! It is so clear that she was "meant" to be with you all at just this moment in time. What a DARLING!

Hugs,

Susan

I wished I had a little girl like that ! Last thursday my best friend died from colon cancer and left two devasted men behind her (husband and son) and a little four year old Ginda. I drove her to kindergarten while the men went to the hospital. She is such a sweet little lady when she got out of the car she said : "Don't forget to come to my house at noon and feed my dog" She is very mature and speaks like a french teacher. Next week I probably will keep her from 4 to 6 until they find somebody to take care of her while they are working. Now I have to look after your posts with Luz to get some ideas to keep little Ginda busy !

....and she is so precious. For me, ALL ages of kids are great tho. I did a 'thankful' of my two grandsons, a favorite photo of mine.

Luz is so cute!
They do grow up way to fast. My youngest Grandchild is Jacob and he is 21!Studying to be a coach over at Central Missouri State U. in Warrensburg MO. He was so good to me on Christmas after I broke my hand. He filled my plate with all the foods I love!! Getting me Diet Cokes when I needed a new one! You get the idea!

I have little great grandkids!! Mathias is 7 and he is Brandon and Ale' son. Jey and Sofia's kids are Valerie 3, Kevin almost 2, and Marcello will be a year old in May! When Karen or Kelly get married we can start all over with grandkids!!! Hugs, Grams

Hi Melli. Luz is growing up fast. It's great that you're making the most of every moment you spend with her.

She has such beautiful and expressive eyes.

It's good that she's gotten over the flu. I hope that she's feeling much better now.

Take care Melli.
