It's not MUCH of a reflection...

... but it wasn't much space to work with!
It IS a reflection though!
:)

Man! I MUST be feeling better today! I was up, had breakfast and coffee, and did my morning Bible studies and took a 2 mile walk -- all before 8:00!!! Whooo hooooo! (Dennis & Mom are still sleeping...) Now... what to do with the rest of my day.... Oh! I guess I could come visit some of YOU - huh?! I'm on my waaaaay!

The LAST Bug...

Or the first!
This was actually the bug that made me run
outside BETWEEN sections of the Terracotta
Warrior exhibit to take pictures in the courtyard!
You can see ME reflected in the back of this beetle
and I must say - he flatters me! I look downright
SKINNY! :)

His Word All Aglow

I LOVE this picture! A candle reflecting on the gilded
edges of my Bible! Totally sootc. No cropping - just resizing.

But then...
Leave it to Quilly...

... to go and make my picture PERFECT!
Thank you Quilly!

Just a quick little mom story! You would never believe how stingy this woman was BA. Yesterday I walked into the kitchen carrying my coffee cup, heading toward my lap top. Mom & Dennis were sitting there having their coffee and reading the paper... well, one of them was! As I sat down Mom looks at me, holds up her cup and says "ya want me to pour some of this in there?" ... indicating my cup! LOL! I assured her I had plenty! She is FOREVER trying to feed us HER food! LOL!

Fun Times and Answered Prayer! (Weekend Reflection included)

Mom & I got to spend the better part of yesterday with Amanda & Luz -- trying to do some fun Christmas things! We sorta botched the first one... we arrived too late for pretty much anything - but that was okay because we ended up down by the docks in Annapolis for the lighting of the BOATS! And it was fun! But it was PACKED! It was coooooold outside and we didn't realize what a BIG DEAL the lighting of the boats IS... and we arrived later than we should have. Parking was at a premium NON-EXISTANT and after driving up and down and all around and every lot was FULL and we had MOM so we couldn't park far far and walk... and we started talking about just heading home and Luz said "no Nana! What are we gonna DO?" And I said, "well, I'll tell ya what... I'm just gonna say a little prayer and if it is God's desire that we SEE these lights tonight, he will provide me with a parking space" -- and I did! So we drove back toward the city docks and I saw a lot that hadn't closed it's chain yet and I pulled in and asked if they had a spot. "No ma'am... I'm sorry. We have NOTHING." I told the kid I would give him 20 bucks if he could find a hole to fit me in! He hemmed and he hawwed and he consulted with his partner and they decided that the place was going to close soon enough that they could MAYBE let me park in this "not a space"... but just then someone came out and got in their truck and LEFT! Tell me it wasn't God! I had a legitimate parking space - and I still gave the kid $20 anyway! (well - they were charging $15 --- but I didn't know that!) LOL! Sooooo... Little Luz is in the back and she pipes up "Thank You God!"... and I said "That is RIGHT Baby Girl! Thank You God!!!" And Amanda said "YOU BRIBED HIM!" I said - it doesn't matter. The spot came open -- it was GOD! I was LOVIN' it!!!

So we walked down to the pier and we had to WAIT in the COLD for about 45 minutes before the boat lighting -- which it turns out is a PARADE of boats! It was very cool! I've uploaded a few VERY short video clips just so you can see a little bit. Anyway... after we had seen enough boat parade we went to get some dinner and get WARM! But on the way we passed some street musicians! I knooooow they were freezing! But bless their souls they were playin' away just the same! You knOw I had to give them some financial love!

I forget what they were playin' - but it was something a
little bit jazzy - and Amanda & Luz started dancing.

They were havin' a good ol' time!

This was the PRETTIEST tree!
Of course, no picture did it justice...
without a flash (upper corner) you could
see the glow. Or under a light with the
flash, you could see it CLEARLY!
*sigh*
I hate night photography!
This is the same reason why I only got
videos of the boats! Because even with a tripod
they would have still been blurry! THEY move
too fast even if the camera is steady!

I took this one while they were parked - it's about
the best I could get! And it will do as my
Weekend Reflection!

It really was a GREAT day!

I want to thank everyone who prayed for Mom about her medications. She is back to "normal"... grin... OUR normal! She gets to keep taking the new medication. The problem was in the lack of Ambien. So once we got her back on that it was just a few days before all the nonsense stopped and we could breath MUCH easier around here again! That Ambien must be one POWERFUL little drug - because she only gets that once a day - and we thought it was just to make her sleep!

So, I got the Christmas tree up yesterday! I hate that job. Does anybody else out there hate that job. It throws me into a funk every single year! I don't know why... I LOVE it once it's all decorated! But the thinking about DOING it... I was reading someone's blog a couple of weeks ago and she had made a deal with her daughter-in-law that SHE would watch the baby and the dil would decorate her tree! Apparently the dil LOVES to do it -- so it was a win/win/win situation! So now all I need is a dil! Cuz my daughters have NO interest in doing it! Anyway... I had to laugh today because here I am putting up the tree -- and the Christmas music is playing, and mom is even humming -- but she never NOTICED the tree! There were men working up on the circle and she was so busy watching them and worryin' about what in the world they were DOING up there that the whole tree thing totally escaped her! I wonder if she'll notice it in the morning? LOL!

Oh HEY! We have SNOW in the forecast today! Well... rain most of the day. But we might see a flurry or two this evening. And if the wind blows JUST right we might have a dusting of white by Sunday morning! I really don't want it... but I don't guess I'm in charge of that!

Well, I'll be decorating the rest of the house today... and visiting blogs, of course! Have a great day!

Weekend Reflections

James, over at Newton Area Photo,

Today is my first time playing.

Everything is getting closed up and put away for the winter
now. This picture was taken last Friday - I'm sure this little
boat is out of the water by now.

As a matter of fact...
we had our first frost this morning...

Frost on the peppers...

Frost on the leaves...

Frost on the buds...

Ohhhhhhh... Winter is coming!
Yuk.
