Desktop Meme ...
Ohhhhhhh boy.... Captain Lifecruiser tagged me for this... and I fear she's going to be disappointed - for two reasons. 1.) I don't do Halloween. (she has a lovely halloween desktop happening right now) and 2.) Since I heard about my Little Luz I have a one-track mind! What IS this??? It's a meme where I am supposed to put up a screen capture of my Desktop -- just so y'all can see what I have! Well... used to be I kept beautiful landscapes from around the neighborhood and beyond. But now I just keep Beautiful Luz. Here it is ....

LOL! And it's not EVEN one you haven't already seen!
What can I say? Some of you understand! *grin*
Oh... I'm not tagging -- but if you WANNA show
me your desktop - leave me a comment and let
me know!

Friday Feast # 162
Wanna Play?
Appetizer
How are you today?
A little bit cranky... I have to leave for work in 20 minutes and Friday Feast seems to be the ONLY meme on the planet that doesn't go up the night before... so I'm feeling rushed!

Name 3 television shows you watch on a regular basis.
I don't watch ANY television... ever. I hate television questions...

What’s the scariest weather situation you’ve experienced?
Well. Weather never scares me! I LOVE extreme weather! I have been through some "remnants" of Hurricanes - but that's really about it. I live too far north to get the full dose. I would actually love to be down south for a good one ONE time... I know... I'm a nut! We HAVE had major ICE STORMS here in my area though... had one several years ago that knocked out the power for almost 2 weeks! That was fun too though...

If you could wake up tomorrow morning in another country, where would you want to be?
*sigh* ... another "country" question. Well, we all know for the millionth time that I want to be in Greece, so TODAY I will choose to want to be in ... thinks hard to choose a country that won't favor one blog friend over another but still isn't Greece... ummm... Turkey!

What do you usually wear to sleep?
A tee-shirt ... I'm ravishing!

Anti-Depression Kit

Anti-Depression Kit
Tammi passed these out at Bible study last night.
I thought they were so cute I wanted to share it!
What's inside?

An eraser ... to make all of those little
mistakes disappear.

A penny ... so that you will never be
completely broke.

A marble... for those days when you are
sure you've lost yours.

An elastic... to help you stretch beyond
your current limits.

A string... to hold it all together when it
seems to be falling apart.

And a Hug & a Kiss...
to remind you that someone cares.
Turn Out The Lights... The Party's Over...
We all know I do my best to keep this blog Happy and UPbeat... so all I'm gonna say is I gave 3 weeks notice at Curves tonight. I will be checking out as a Fitness Tech on Oct. 12th - unless my boss convinces me I might want to leave a little sooner. Please, please, please...

Coming up with something for Paper was almost as difficult
as PLASTIC was! It seems I don't often photograph paper!
But this particular time, I had photographed it - and intentionally
so. This was taken at this years' Relay For Life in my town.
The 2nd luminaire from the bottom left spot is in remembrance
of my Derek's friend, Scott Coyle, who died of Ewings Sarcoma
5 years ago. Derek and Scott were BEST friends! The next one
in from Scott's is in Honor of his mom, Judi Coyle, who not only
coordinates the WHOLE Relay For Life thing for our county -
but also became a cancer survivor herself this past year with
the completion of treatment for breast cancer. It was an honor to
participate in Relay For Life ... in both of their honors!

Wordless Wednesday --- Tupac

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And the NOT wordless part....
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Of course the outfit(s) down below are for Little Lucy Luz! Not to worry - both have been paid for and are being kept! There has just been
discussion as to which of the two tops make the outfit
COOL... and I might say that allllllll of my friends are a bunch of
DORKS! (oh no... I do NOT do name-calling on MY blog!) I, of course, LOVE both - which is why I forked out money for BOTH. BUT... I AM of the opinion that in the name of COOL, the bottom top wins! Of course, my 30 year old UBER cool daughter (and Mommy to Lucy Luz) believes that the rather normal really cute white top IS the COOL top! Soooooooo.... thanks to y'all - SHE wins! I lose! Thanks guys... thanks a million! ROFL!
*whispers very quietly* -
the little dude in my wordless wednesday is my other grandbaby... Tupac!
He is patiently waiting for big sister, Luz, to come live with him!

Saturday Photo Hunt -- Plastic

Join the
blogroll. Visit participants.

This weeks theme gave me a little bit of a headache! I'm not overly fond of plastic... and could really not find anything in my house (or out!) that gave me warm fuzzies to photograph for this week! I had almost decided not to play when I walked past my boys playing darts. Then I decided to have a little photo shop fun with it, and here we are! Plastic Fantastic.... or whatever.

Inner Harbor - Pt. 2
Upon
debarking (is that really a word? it's a boat... not a dog!) the boat, we spent... mmmm... probably about 15 minutes trying to decide if we were going to eat NOW or eat LATER. LOL! Oh... perhaps I should mention, we were a group of 8 on this voyage! Billy and Charlene, and Alan and Pam (and Bob and Carol and Ted and Alice... just kidding!) And me and Dennis and Bob and Annie! (oh... yea...) LOL! Sooooo... we fiiiiiinally make up our minds that we want to eat... and then we're faced with where? We have just debarked infront of the Inner Harbor equivalent of the Food Court at the local mall! Tooooooo many options for toooooooo many people! LOL! We finally decided on ...

J. Paul's
It was a place none of us had tried before...
and we thought we should

Dennis, Me, Pam and Alan

Charlene (on phone w/daughter), Billy, Annie, and
Captain (making sure he's not exposed!) LOL!
It turned out that we should have gone to eat at Phillip's! I was the ONLY one who liked what I got to eat - even though 4 others ate the same thing. It was called a Crab Melt - which was an open faced english muffin, topped with crab salad, and a white cheese melted on top. SOUNDS good, right? What the menu FAILED to mention was that there was a TON of green and red pepper in the crab salad. I like green and red peppers - so I was fine - even though I thought it was a LOT too ... but the others were not fine! And on top of it all, Captain could not SEE his boat! hehehe... It was a lesson learned...
*oh! J. Paul's also does not serve a "cream of crab" soup... this did not go over well...* Well, really... who ever heard of a MARYLAND restaurant on the BAY that doesn't serve cream of crab soup??? Nonsense! Not to worry! The rest of our day was just fine! So sorry J. Paul's...
From there we decided to go tour the
USS ConstellationShe's the last Civil War vessel still afloat

I took this picture on one of the hourly cannon firings!
This tour was quite an eye-opening experience. Just to see how these sailors had to live...
It was pretty amazing!

Dennis had to try this out!
Considering the size of the Captain's bed (below)
I wonder how many telephone books he had to stand on
in order to steer this ship!

The Captain's Stateroom
I
promise you... this bed is no wider than a baby's crib
and
maybe a foot longer.
MAYBE.
It must have been a requirement to be short if you wanted to be a sailor!

This is where the sick or injured slept.

THIS is how everyone else slept!
Honey actually thought this was pretty comfy...
but I'm thinking after a few months ...
mmm.... maybe not so much.
I did have to wonder though... the captain, in his "fixed" bed probably got tossed around a LOT during a night - thus, I'm sure, the reason for the crib sides on his bed! It almost makes me wonder if he wouldn't have been MORE comfortable in one of the hammocks! ???

A shot of all of us in the dining area. This was just a
little window seat... do you see our Captain hiding
behind his missus? LOL!
There is a LOT more to see on the Constellation ... it is 4 floors ... and the ceilings get lower and lower as you descend into the depths of the ship! By the time you are on the bottom level even shorty's like me are well hunched over! It's a fun explore though! Do it if ya get the chance!
When we left the Constellation, the gents wanted to go tour the submarine that is also "parked" in the harbor.

We women really weren't terribly interested. I would have gone - except that you may remember HOW claustrophobic I am! After the bottom floor of the Constellation, I was pretty sure I could do without touring the sub! LOL! We sent the men on their way and we just hung out and chatted a bit! The building behind the sub is the Baltimore Aquarium - we didn't go in this day - but it is an AWESOME place to visit!

Our next stop was the Lighthouse on Pier 5.
It's pretty on the outside - but empty on the inside. There are pictures, and signs to read - but it's not really much of anything. We have a much better lighthouse down in Solomon's that is still furnished - and that you can even go up to the light tower! So, this lighthouse was a bit of a disappointment.
Once done here, it was time to head back to the boat! When we got over to her, I spotted the
Pride Of Baltimore coming in... we waited around a little bit, and I got some nice pics of her.

It was a breezy day and I wondered if she had had her
sails up while out in the bay.... and I wished I'd been out
there to see! She is sO gorgeous when she's all dolled up!
Now.... I didn't actually take any pictures on the way back!
I rode up on the front of the boat this trip....

This really IS the place to be when you're cruisin'!
And you know...
as long as I was there...
I just couldn't resist...

ROFL!!! We were goin' about 26 knots! (30 mph)
Maaaaaan that was fun!
WHOOOO HOOO!
